What is the significance of the "O" before Lord? It is found 371 times in the Bible. From my rudimentary (but with a positive trajectory) knowledge of the Bible I would ascertain that the person speaking O Lord is pleading to God either a prayer or petition. This demonstrates that they are subjecting themselves to God's will in subjugation to him. Maybe I'm reading into that a bit? Maybe it's similar to the salutation used these days "dear"? Any takers??
