Harvest NYC Devotional for Today:
"Not My Will, But His!"

May 21, 2007 by Pastor Raul Ries

Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

-Matthew 6:10

You need to pray according to God's will. That means, you need to be neutral in your requests. If you are trying to decide whether you should take a new job in a new town, you need to bring it before the Lord without your feelings attached to it. Sometimes we feel so strongly about something that we can't get past our own will to find His. Remember, we want God's will in our life, not our own!

We need to yield to the Lord in everything!

Thought for the Day:
Your main concern is that the will of God be done
- Whatever that is!

Not My Will But His..........Absolutely.......All the time.

I would councel all who face thoughts, desires, ideas even, to go away from home, work at a new place, any life changing situation, to share it with godly folks. Seek advice and councel.

The good lOrd gave us something which we call 'common sense' Forgive me if I sound like a school teacher. But I have seen so many professing to have heard from the Lord in a matter, good folks too, and precious people. His will, and all that. The result being in a number of cases, being broken hearts and regrets.

Not my will but His........Yes all the time.

Amen, We always need to pray in His will. Sometimes His will is not what we want or expect, but He is our shepard. He knows what we need and His will is perfect.

Romans 12:2
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Amen,

Great topic. Sometimes people ask you to pray for them or for a certain situation saying that you must pray that GOD does something. Alot of people just go into prayer according to what the person said. But we must always stop and seek GOD about HIS will in that situation before praying about it.

Prayer is about co-operating with GOD not seeking for HIM to do our own will.

His will not mine

That's so true, you can't hear God if you're speaking "out of his will". That's why when we're praying for some we must ask God to speak through us....

Amen, Cody that's so comforting. I've had situations where I didn't know how to pray. It would be all about "Me" and not so much " God your will be done. I think as humans we have a need to be in control, because of our fear of failure. Trusting in His will is all we can do. His will is perfect.

No brother you don't sound like a school teacher, it's sad but I too have been burn from "hearing God", when it was just " Me''. That's why we must pray for discernment, and seek Godly advice.
