Ok I took notes from the Sermon in church Sunday and thought I would share:
Not everything in the Bible is there to make us feel good. But it is there for our good and we need ALL of it ~ even the bad.

Galatians 5:2-4

Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law

The warning here is Don't trust in your past faith in Christ.
Paul says these bad things will be true if they are circumcised
* Christ will be of NO benefit to them
* They will be under obligation to keep the whole law
* They will be severed from Christ.
* They will be seeking to be justified by the law.
* They will have fallen from God's grace.
The danger is not that these folks will lose their salvation, but that they probably are not truly saved.
The proof of our salvation is not some where in the past, it is the faith we have in Him now, how it affects our life. Does it cause us to have the fruit of the spirit readily seen in our lives or do we still growl when someone shows us our wrongs.
True faith is a living faith. He is living in us and we trust Him to guide us in our lives even in the darkest parts.
If your faith is in Christ, trust God He saved and will keep you in
II Peter 1:4-11

4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

8For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

11For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
