Cherubim and Seraphim - Generally considered the be Angels.
Note: The "-im" simply tells us that we're talking about more than one of these beings.

In Biblical Hebrew, "-im" (ים) is a masculine plural suffix. So:

  • Nephilim = plural of Naphil (possibly meaning "fallen one")
  • Cherubim = plural of Cherub (כְּרוּב)
  • Seraphim = plural of Seraph (שָׂרָף)

Nephilim

  • Description: Possibly “fallen ones”; mighty or giant-like men of old.
  • Scriptures:
    • Genesis 6:1–4 – Present before the flood; associated with the “sons of God.”
    • Numbers 13:33 – Spies report seeing Nephilim in Canaan, descendants of Anak.

Anakim

  • Description: Descendants of Anak; tall and fearsome warriors.
  • Scriptures:
    • Numbers 13:28, 33 – Spies fear the Anakim.
    • Deuteronomy 1:28; 2:10–11; 9:2 – Described as great and tall.
    • Joshua 11:21–22 – Joshua drives them out, except in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod.

Rephaim

  • Description: A race of giants; also used poetically for the dead.
  • Scriptures:
    • Genesis 14:5 – Defeated by Chedorlaomer.
    • Deuteronomy 2:11, 20; 3:11, 13 – Og of Bashan is last of the Rephaim.
    • Joshua 12:4; 13:12; 15:8 – Their land is conquered.
    • Isaiah 14:9; Proverbs 9:18 – Rephaim as “shades” in Sheol.

Emim

  • Description: “Terrors”; tall and numerous people.
  • Scriptures:
    • Deuteronomy 2:10–11 – Lived in Moab; considered Rephaim by others.

Zamzummin

  • Description: Tall and numerous; feared by the Ammonites.
  • Scriptures:
    • Deuteronomy 2:20–21 – Called Rephaim; destroyed by the Ammonites.

Goliath (and his kin)

  • Description: Giant warrior from Gath.
  • Scriptures:
    • 1 Samuel 17:4–7 – Goliath’s height and armor described.
    • 2 Samuel 21:15–22; 1 Chronicles 20:4–8 – Other giants from Gath slain by David’s men.

Og of Bashan

  • Deuteronomy 3:11

Now there has been a lot of discussion about where these races of beings came from, some say fallen Angels mated with humans (Gen 6, Jude 6-7). But it's also possible that at least some of these people existed before the time of Genesis 6. I don't really want to argue about that, but it does beg the question.

Did God create these races of non-humans? Let's forget the angelic beings for now and focus on the Giants. If God didn't create them, where did they come from? Also, if God did create them, why does it seem He wanted to eliminate them in several passages in the Bible? It would seem they do not exist today.

Fun Linguistic Note

The "-im" plural is common in Hebrew for many words, not just supernatural beings. For example:

  • Malakhim = angels or messengers (plural of malakh)
  • Elohim = God (grammatically plural, but often used singularly for the God of Israel)
(Why would they call a single God a plural being?) It's a title of God almost never used by non-trinitarians.

Back to Giants.

Gen 6:2 that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.
Gen 6:3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."
Gen 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

The thinking here is... the "sons of God" were angels, and "the daughters of men" were human women. But depending on how you interpret verse 4. The Nephilim could have existed before this time.

Jude 1:6 And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day,
Jude 1:7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

This is a passage that is written quite a bit differently in some translations, but most say the (fallen) Angels committed sexual acts that weren't
approved of.

2Pet 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment;

God creates after kinds of the temporal seen. Not the imaginary kind

I would offer
  • Malakhim = angels or messengers (plural of malakh)
  • Elohim = God (grammatically plural 2 The invisible Father working in the son the dynamic dual ,
Daughters of men same as born of woman. Unconverted Mankind.

Sons of God whoever is led by the Spirit of Christ "Christians"

Sons of God those who are not what they will be when they receive the new incorruptible bodies

1 John 3:1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is

Nephilim heroes or giants of faith the superstars Hollywood

It can be used to represent in both camps . That of David the giant killer renown of God and the camp of the giant, Goliath renown of the devil.

David the renown of God with one little GPS guided stone right between the eyes .The Father shoved there remown hand he fell flat on his face on his face

Nephilim used 9 time in the King James to represent the superstars the Oscar winners

Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty (famous) men which were of old, men of renown.

Isaiah 14:20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.

Ezekiel 16:15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.

Genesis 6:4 in a nut shell) 2 Corinthians 6:14 below

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye (Christians) not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness Sons of God with unrighteousness? (dying mankind) and what communion hath light with darkness?

God did not create the invisible kind he alone is invisible God .

Satan the creator of the legion of invisible kinds, the king of lying signs to wonder, wonder after as if true prophecy. we have the full (sola scriptura)

It would seem certain words were left in the original tongue to cause confusion like the famous five. Nephilim, apostle, baptize, sabbath, or Anggelos.

Anggelos meaning messenger and not angel a fake word not coined until the 10th century when applied to one sent apostles .

Again, God did not create an invisible kind.

He remains the one and only. No duplicate gods in the likeness of dying mankind

Great post except for one item missing. Yehovah
God and the Angels in Heaven are noncorporeal beings, unlike us. I find nowhere in scripture that they can appear in corporeal form except that Yehovah wills it to be so. He is never party to evil, and that seems to wreck the idea that the Nephilim are anything more than the same giants that dwe;; among us today.

Sons of God whoever is led by the Spirit of Christ "Christians"

There are many sons of God (lowercase s), but only one Son of God (uppercase S)

Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.

Here we go again... because something that is reknown was evil, everything evil must be reknown. False reverse logic again.

God did not create the invisible kind he alone is invisible God .

.. but then you contradict yourself by saying...

Satan the creator of the legion of invisible kinds, the king of lying signs to wonder

Satan created the "invisible kinds". Satan is not God, he can't create anything. He himself is a created being.
But if Satan could create "invisible kinds" then that would mean that God "alone" isn't the only invisible one.

But isn't only Spirit, He also existed.. in the flesh.

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

I find nowhere in scripture that they can appear in corporeal form

Gen 19:10 But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.

How could they have physically grabbed Lot, if they weren't corporal? How could the men of Sodom see them if they weren't corporal?

The angels spoken of, concerning talking to abraham about the destruction of Sodom and Gamorah, had a meal with them, so that would mean they can be corporeal if they so desire.

Yes, Born again Jesus the Son of man the first born of many sons of God (Christians)

Here we go again... because something that is reknown was evil, everything evil must be reknown. False reverse logic again.
Thats one use for the word renown of this evil world (superstars) like David the renown of God defeating the renown of the enemy Goliath.

Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.

.. but then you contradict yourself by saying.
Satan the spirit of error is behind the idea of invisible creation called angels. Today called patron saints. The renown of Catholicism.

Satan created the "invisible kinds". Satan is not God, he can't create anything. He himself is a created being.
But if Satan could create "invisible kinds" then that would mean that God "alone" isn't the only invisible one.

But isn't only Spirit, He also existed.. in the flesh.

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth

Yes, through his lies he has created an invisible entity some call angels or others call patron saints. A fake word

One invisible entity called God. Having other gods to include oneself before His eternal Holy Spirit is to violate the first commandment

The angels spoken of, concerning talking to abraham about the destruction of Sodom and Gamorah, had a meal with them, so that would mean they can be corporeal if they so desire.
The messengers spoken of as apostles. Used in the same way as UPS, Fed X, Uber, Air mail. Pony Express and not the Twighlight Zone or outer limits

Christ used Abel the first apostle and first recorded martyr

Angel a fake word

One invisible God .not a legion (patron saints)

Luke 8:30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

What character of the Bible was born without a soul, during its lifetime acquired a soul, and before death lost it again

Gen 19:10 But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.

How could they have physically grabbed Lot, if they weren't corporal? How could the men of Sodom see them if they weren't corporal?
Because Yehovah God decreed it to be so. They were doing good and not evil. Remember, God knows what will be done before anyone decides to do it.

Did Giants really exist? Or is the Bible lying? How big were these people?

Scriptures with Measurable Descriptions of Giant Size

1. Goliath of Gath

  • 1 Samuel 17:4–7

"Then a champion came out from the armies of the Philistines named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span."
"The shaft of his spear was like a weaver’s beam, and the iron point of his spear weighed six hundred shekels of iron."
    Height: ~9 feet 9 inches (6 cubits + 1 span)
Spearhead weight: ~15 lbs (600 shekels)
Armor weight: ~125 lbs (5,000 shekels of bronze)

2. Og, King of Bashan

  • Deuteronomy 3:11

"Only Og king of Bashan was left of the remnant of the Rephaim. Behold, his bed was a bed of iron. Is it not in Rabbah of the Ammonites? Nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, according to the common cubit."
Bed size: ~13.5 feet long × 6 feet wide
Suggests Og was likely 12–13 feet tall

3. Amorites

  • Amos 2:9

"Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks..."
Cedar trees in Lebanon can reach 30–100 feet, so this is likely hyperbolic, but it emphasizes extraordinary height.

4. Nephilim (via Anakim)

  • Numbers 13:33

"We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."
While not a measurement, this vivid metaphor implies extreme size disparity.

5. Descendants of Rapha (Goliath’s kin)

  • 2 Samuel 21:16–22

"Ishbi-benob, one of the descendants of Rapha, whose bronze spearhead weighed three hundred shekels..."
"There was war at Gath again, where there was a man of great stature who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number..."
    Spearhead: ~7.5 lbs
Polydactyly (extra digits) is a genetic marker sometimes associated with ancient giant lore.

  • Cubit: Ancient unit of length from elbow to fingertip.
    Standard cubit ≈ 18 inches
    Royal cubit ≈ 20.4–21.6 inches
  • Ell: A later European unit, similar to a cubit.
    English ell ≈ 45 inches
Not used in biblical Hebrew texts, but sometimes appears in older English translations.

While not a measurement, this vivid metaphor implies extreme size disparity.
Its a measurement of acceptability faith or honor called the renown. Popular ones Found in both camps. Renowned of famous the of ones of Christ like David or renown of the devil like Goliath?

Renown used 9 times.

The commandment not to be unevenly yoked still applies even after the flood

This appears to rely on subjective opinion. I believe I, for one, will continue relying on the context of the scriptures.

NON HUMANS IN THE BIBLE.

The truth is that some angels rebelled against God, left their first estate and mated with earthly women. These women then gave birth to "hybrids" that grew to be of large stature aka "giants." There are 36 tribes of giants mentioned in the Holy Bible (you didn't hear that from your hireling pastors). The giants interbred with everything in sight, including animals. The giants were also cannibalistic. This is the key to prophecy, the reason why God executed the entire planet via the flood, except for Noah's eight (because his generation was perfect i.e. was not interbred with the giants).

The Nephilim are not the giants, but the giants are Nephilim-related. After the flood, the disembodied spirits of the giants remained, which is one reason why we are told that the woman is to have power on her head (1 Cor. 11:10), because it was common knowledge concerning the fallen angels and the possibility that these malevolent creatures might again revisit our women for a repeat episode. The disembodied spirits of the giants are what we refer to as devils or demons; they are not eligible for salvation; they remain in the air about us everywhere; and they seek physical embodiment in us in order to act out their wicked nature.

There are 800+ mentions and dozens of tribes of giants found in the Holy Bible:

Amalekites, Amorites, Anakim, Ashdodites, Ashkelonites (Eshkalonites), Avvim, Avites, Canaanites, Caphtorim, Ekronites, Emim (Emins),
Gazites (Gazathites), Geshurites , Gibalites (Giblites), Gibeonites, Girgashites, Gittites, Hittites, Hivites, Horites (Horims), Jebusites, Kadmonites, Kenites, Kenizzites, Maacathites, Manassites, Nephilim, Perizzites, Philistines, Rephaim, Sidonians, Zamzummim, and the Zuzim.
