Lost in sea of darkness.
I don't know who I am,
or where I am going.
Today I am to be wed,
To someone I don't know.
He is terrifying.
He is controling.
I feel like I am empty;
Like I am missing something.
I feel like a hollow shell without a soul.
What has happened to me.
I'm in a white dress,
but it is stained with my black tears.
Why am I crying?
I don't even know how to feel.
My skin is white and,
My eyes are hollow.
The sadistic organ calls me down the isle.
People in masks escort me.
There he is.
There is the man I am to marry.
Who are you?
Why must I marry you?
No one seems to feel.
All wear a blank mask and stare ahead.
Who are these people?
I don't know... any of you.
I am closer to the alter,
and I feel a sharp pain in my chest.
Something is telling me to run.
His stare is inescapable.
I can't break free.
Don't touch me.
Don't take my hand.
I don't love you.
"We are gathered here today..."
The priest starts to say.
No I don't want this.
I feel an uncontrollable rage.
What is happening to me?
I begin to shake.
"Do you take her as your lawfully wedded wife?"
The priest asks the stranger.
He nodds and my heart curdles in pain.
"I don't accept him!"
I begin to shout.
My body is filled with an uncontrollable rage.
"Let me go!"
I say viciously.
"Does anyone object to these two being wed?"
The priest asks.
As I am about to break,
I hear a peaceful voice.
"Fear thou not, for I am with thee."
Instead of rage...
I feel... Strength!
no more rage.
A bright light consumes me.
I awaken.
All the masked people have vanished.
Only the man I was to wed stands before me.
I have regained my humanity.
I remember who I am.
"I am a child of God.
And you cannot destroy me!"
I shout boldly to the man.
"By the power of God I rebuke YOU!
Be GONE!"
The Sword of the Spirit takes form.
It is now wedged deeply into his heart.
I won't look away from his sinful eyes.
"Take a good look at this child of God."
I say. "It is because of God that I..."
I pause. "...I forgive you."
I say softly and smile.
Suddenly the man vanishes.
He is no more.
And now I am at peace.
Blessed...be the name of the Lord.

I am not a poet but I hope you guys like this poem. ^.^ It's based off a character I designed not too long ago for my story "Legion of Haven." Epic Story. lol. 1 of several game ideas.:embarasse

I do like the poem
It was a little disconcerting at first
the not wanting to marry~I hoped it were a bad dream
But then there was a husband there in bed with her and she slay him or what It was a bit confusing
I get the imagery of the Sword of the Spirit, but could you explain a little more? Thanks

Well basically, she's being forced to marry someone she doesn't love. She's temporarily lost herself and claims to be a hollow shell because of the events about to take place. Everyone is wearing a mask, meaning that she doesn't know anyone. She's forced down the aisle and is saying, basically, "No I don't want to do this," type stuff. She's at the Alter and no one seems to care what she thinks, cause the Priest keeps right on going. She feels her anger well up and is about to go all psychotically powerful on someone. And right before she's about to break, she hears God say that he's not forsaken her, and so she uses that as her strength. Basically the bright light obliterated everyone and everything. And since she accepted God's voice, she regained herself again. She then tells the guy off and to take a good look at her. You don't mess with a child of God. The guy sort of represents Satan (in a sense.) And so, the Sword of The Spirit developes from God's words in her heart and she banishes him. So it's empowering. ^.^ Does that help?

Hey thank you. Yeah, I figured this poem would relate to some people. ^.^ I'm glad you find it worth reading. Thanks guys. I pray that you won't have to suffer with this, and if you have, I pray that you won't have to again:wink:
