Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. Colossians 4:5-6 NLT
God did not invite you to new-life living to engage in a spiritual social club that is exclusive and unwelcoming. He did not ask you to change just so you no longer need to associate with those who haven’t chosen to follow Him.
The trouble with this thinking is that we’re told in scripture that “So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!" (2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT).
An ambassador is someone who shares what he knows about the one he represents. You can’t do that if you refuse to tell others how they can be friends with God.
There is an old song that asks children whether they should hide what they know about Jesus (their light) under a bushel. The answer is a universal no! Nothing has changed. It’s still a perfect answer.
Prayer: Dear God, help me find an enthusiasm for sharing the best news I’ve ever heard with people who thought it was rumor. If You can change me, then help me connect with people who need an introduction to real change.
