Hi all,

Not sure what to put this post under.

I just want to share something so inspiring i heard in a sermon the other day about Noah, things that are right there for me to see for myself, yet missed it anyway. So here goes.

  • It took Noah 120 years to build the Ark
  • Except for the other 7 members of his family, EVERYONE but everyone in the World/city/town during his time was against him and the message he was preaching.
  • He never gave up serving God because of this animosity and hostility from Everyone around him (except for his immed. family)
  • ALL those people had 120 years of grace an mercy from God to turn an be saved
  • NOT EVEN ONE TURNED
  • In 120 years Noah was not 'discouraged' in spreading Gods message, he just kept right on through those 120 years BELEIVNG God and warning the people
So we call him Noah the go-er, he just kept on for God, just kept on with God, just kept going an going an going. :shade:

One would think at least 1 other person would have listened and turned in that time!

Indeed. Yet most are quite content to be their own god. Like Lucifer they want to exalt their own will and be subject to no restraints.
Very sad indeed. And a tremendous testimony to Noah's faith. Like Abraham he had to trust God over his whole lifetime to see that which was foretold come to pass.

When I think about Noah's faith, especially in how you so succinctly described it, I am awed. He honored the Lord as his God no matter what and was recorded in Hebrews as one of God's chosen who displayed great faith. If I could have even 1/100 of Noah's faith in action, I would be a light in my community. We are generally spoiled in United States, not spoiled in a horrible evil way...but so comfortable in our numerous churches where persecution is not usually great from the world around us. Perhaps persecution is not great because we as a people are not shining in the darkness? I will never know here on earth who I could have touched with the light of Jesus had I not been focused on self and my own problems.

"Lord, open my eyes...to the needs of others. Be strong in me and may my lips and my service honor You. Amen."
