Historic Rhetoric

Historic rhetoric don't tell me God’s word is history
Don't tell me what happened to Job wont happen again
When a man just lost everything

Historic rhetoric don't tell me God’s word is past its time
Don't tell me what happened in the Bible wont happen again
When a boy gets thrown in the lions den for praying in class

Historic rhetoric don't tell me God’s word is past and no more
Don't tell me what happened in the Bible wont happen again
Not when I just heard the mountains tremble and rocks cry out

Historic rhetoric if God’s word is past and wont happened again
Then why does the cross from two thousand years ago still bleed
And still crucify a innocent man who’s no longer dead but alive

Jesus Christ is alive and well which means so is God’s word
For Jesus Christ is the livning word which means not historic
Rhetoric,but alive, not dead is God’s word which lives in me

Historic rhetoric is lies told but I live by the truth that lives in me
God’s word is not a what or a thing but a living, breathing spirit
Who has a name Jesus Christ the Son of God the great I AM
