Hello.

:shy-animated:

I'm new here, please play nicely with me.

Current 08/08/08: I am a 21 year old, wife of one 22 year old, mother of one 17 month old boy.

I grew up in a Christian home, school, church, country too predomintantly! (Australia) But considered myself atheist / agnostic til April / May 2003 when I started -trying- to follow the Lord!

Despite some major and minor unexpected events I'm still trying, but I realise my personal relationship with him is sorely lacking. I want to find a way to fix it up quick! (But I'm willing to take time and be patient if that's what I need.)

I have a lot of questions, I would love to go to bible college but neither time nor money allows, I LOVE to learn more about my faith and God in ways that grow and challenge me. I love to help and counsel others to the best of my God-given ability.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you and hopefully making many new Christian online friends, because at the moment I'm a bit isolated from my irl Christian friends and my main online friends don't share my faith which, believe me, -really- can be hard.

Anon*.

*As in the Shakespearean 'at once' / 'soon'. Cause obviously I'm not anonymous!

Welcome to TalkJesus, Rain. I pray that you are edified here. Let me share one bit of knowledge with you from my experience: When God deems that things need to move slowly, they will move slowly, and no one can speed them up! When He deems that things need to move quickly, they will move quickly and no one can slow them down!

Remember also that success is not the destination; success is the journey!

Welcome to Talkjesus - I sincerely hope you'll be very happy here. Although neither of my parents were church goers on a regular basis, like you, I too grew up in a Christian environment. The trouble was, I found, once I started work, I became an adult in an adult world, and was expected to behave like one, which I did! God was soon forgotten, the only time I thought about Him was when there were problems, but once the crisis was over I'd be back to my old ways. It wasn't until six years ago, just millimetres away from a nervous breakdown, that I sought - and found the meaning of true salvation. Since that moment my life has never been the same. If you read just one book, read the book of John, and accept the the Lord Jesus Christ loves you exactly as you are, warts and all. How much does he love you? He opened His arms and died for you - that is how much. What does he want in return? Absolutely nothing. Read some of our testimonies in the testimonial section - I am the Christian of convenience.

You say you love to help and counsel others. Although you are not aware of it at the moment, the Holy Spirit bestows certain gifts on individuals. He calls you in accents meek and low.
Peace be with you, Fred.

I am new to Christanity, well its been a year and a half now but I consider myself pretty new to it because I am still trying to live my life the way our Lord Jesus Christ wants us to. But a question that baffles me is which church to go to and which not, 1st church I went to was an evangelic church I felt abit weird because I was alone and knew no one and never went there again as the youth cermony is late in the evening and ma folks are not too keen on my new way of living even if it means having my heart changed for good and attaing eernal life. I Also went for the morning ceremony at a pentecostal church, where everyone thinks pentecostal is the only right church to go to. Does it really matter ehich church when your surrounded by people who want to worship the Lord And help each other understand the Bible. I mean I was told that the Holy Spirit will guide you to the right church, how would you know which one is the right church??

I tried so many online churches and bible classes but they seem to stop for one reason or the other. Im dying to meet christian friends and go to a nice church where I go spiritually grow, because in this time in the Lord I have learned alot by the Lords grace but still feel this voide which I want to fill up.

Sorry to bore you but just wanted help in finding a spirit filled church
Many thanks
