need help with parable...

I checked the list of parables, but I didnt find the one I was looking for,
so hopefully someone can help clarify what the parable of the ten minas is trying to teach? I was reading my daily bread, and the bible in one year section happened to tell me to read that, but I feel so unaccomplished if I keep going and not even know what I read...
