Need advice

I got a little one around here a boy he is 8ish I believe it's only his momma there along with a few siblings but this youngin is breaking in people's homes he hasn't bothered me no e I tried spending time n talking to him about how it's wrong n consequences n the dangers n why it is wrong but he just ain't getting it his momma n siblings already know the police have been involved tried also talking n the scare tactic yet it's just don't sink in anywho I live in Oklahoma a new gun law passed regarding protecting your home n property.. now people ain't gonna care that it's an 8 yr old boy nor will they check to see who it is breaking in.. anyone have any advice on how can one get through to a child like this n please keep this child in your prayers

Off the start, avoid agenda-driven third parties (e.g. police, social services, ad nauseum). Have a neighbourly chat with his head i.e. mother. Then you 'll know what you're dealing with.

His actions require hands on time.

Many may tell you paddling the rear end is the way. As a foster/adoptive father, taking time to be with the child is the best way. And while you do things with your kid, talk with him about those bad behaviors.

I thought about a scared straight program for OK, but I believe he is being 8 might be too young for the program. However, the mom could check with local law enforcement about that type of program. They could make an exception.

There are bootcamps etc. that could also help. Places like Boy's Town, and even Catholic Church has places for errant boys who haven't yet reached the level of adulthood criminality.

Getting the boy involved in activities/sports/martial arts could also be helpful. Not having a solid male role model, or one that is willing to tan that hide, can be a problem.

I was a child like that. My dad died when I was 10, and my mom couldn't control me at all. So, my mom had me arrested while I was sleeping in bed when I was in my teens. Spent 1/2 year in detention (worse one in the US/now closed), and then a Catholic organization that my mom contacted had a Boys Home which I went to for a couple of years. It stopped me from doing worse things, that could have gotten me incarcerated with the big boys. After that the military, changed me, but ultimately the real change didn't happen until the Lord called me while I was stationed in Germany. Still I've fought God tooth and nail, being a bit of hardheaded dummy myself.

Most especially keep the boy in prayer! Asking for avenues to be made whereby he can be helped. Our God is able! Most times we just don't ask, or don't ask rightly enough.

He's not my son just a child in my neighborhood he spend a lot of time outside always into mischief I wonder if he even knows what consequences are I don't know his mom i do know his older brother he is ten he tells me the younger one is always lying making up stories n breaking into homes..

Sounds like you are reaching you're asking for support a form of prayer. Remember Christ in us is the teacher. . keep preaching show yourself as friendly, trustworthy.

So you have some rapport with the older brother. He might be able to lead you to the boy's authority. It's similar to a version of doing a "Matthew chapter 18."

It's not the best option, because you're dealing with the issue of authority. Satan will continue to invade those areas where the authority issue is fuzzy, confusing or nonexistent. So it's paramount that you discover who is the ruling authority in the boy's life, and then work it out from there. It's a wasted exercise swatting flies in the kitchen when the back screen door has been left open.

If you don't reach the boy (by activating the proper chain of command), then the enemy otherwise will (in the absence of the proper chain of command).

That's ok, as long as there is also a "neighborhood grandpa" covering you, who is in agreement with your actions as the "granny."

God's kingdom is a kingdom of order. What gets the job done, is when proper spiritual alignment protocol is followed.

Without leaning to my own understanding, I'll just ask you and you can give me understanding. Seeing how you know God and you're in good standing with God, how come you don't ask him for his advice, instead of asking these people for their advise? I understand that council from God or being led by the Holy Ghost, would far exceed any advice of anyone on or off the internet. Do you agree with my understanding?
