The story of my salvation begins on my living room couch. I had just finished a very difficult telephone conversation with one of my aunts and I was agonizing over the pain that she was feeling. So, staring at my cell phone, I logged on to Facebook and began to write a note about broken families that I eventually titled "Missing Pieces". Then I got scared. When I read the note after finishing it I didn't recognize many of the thoughts that were expressed in it. Over the course of the following days I experienced many extremely vivid dreams about a baptismal and the calmness of the water inside it. Then there was the flood. After 24 solid hours of torrential rain, my family and I were forced out of our home and were welcomed into the home of the aunt that had prompted such extreme feelings of empathy so many days before. While we were in her home the dreams I was having began to intensify. When I described these visions to her husband, he said that he believed that God, through the Holy Spirit, was communicating with me. I was dumbfounded, but his explanation alleviated many of my fears about what was happening. It was at this time that I really started to believe in God! Two days later, after wrestling mightily with my doubts, and on the day that we were planning to go home, I gathered my family in the living room of my aunt and uncle's home and asked Jesus Christ to be the Lord of my life. FINALLY I was free! Three weeks later I was baptized in the exact baptismal that I had been seeing so regularly in my dreams. Standing in waste high water and still dripping wet, I gave my testimony to the congregation. God is great!
