At a meeting on Wednesday, the vicar of a church I have recently returned to was condemning Christians of the past. I pointed out the freeing of slaves, creating hospital, poverty reduction, literacy and all the other wonderful things Christians have done in the past.
She then started to talk about other faiths saying that all faiths were not equal, but pointing out that Christians, Jews and Muslims all worship the same god.
I pointed out that Allah and Jesus Christ were not the same, to which she said did Jesus ever say he was God. "Of course he did ", said I.
After the service, she invited my wife and I to a cup of tea in a very friendly way. Then she turned on me asking why I had brought a camera to church. I told her I like taking pictures of local flora and fauna and of my wife and dog. She became more and more angry saying that it is illegal to take pictures of people without their permission.
I pointed out that I took no pictures of anyone other than my wife and dog. So I opened the camera and showed her its content; two pics of my wife and five of my dog.
She was so angry her face turned red and her lips pursed and white. I have never seen such hatred towards me. So, I took a deep breath and said "see you next Sunday".
Please brothers and sisters of Talk Jesus, what should I do? Allow her to fill new Christians with this post - modernest lies, (Jesus was a good bloke but not God and the Bible is unreliable) or should I stand up for my belief and take the flack. I am not a well man (two heart attacks) but I can't let her continue with her street cred lies.
