My life is a mess

Hello there, I am Mika, and as the title says, my life is a mess, and in the last couple of years wasn't able to get some meaningful change whatsoever.

For a bit of context, I work as a chemist, I'm an ex-furry and ex ToS-sympathiser, I quit smoking, but in the last year, I started to feel more at peace with the idea of God and rejoining practicing a religion and being a part of such community, although my values oftentimes go against it. Also, I've lost a lot of friends in the past few years, so now I'm left with a handful, but 75% of the time I'm on my own anyways.

Let's hope my arrival here can result in some meaningful interactions.

I truly hope you will find yourself to Jesus Christ, not a religion, but in truth a way that doesn't take away the troubles or conflicts of life, just one that will never have you feeling that you are ever alone in Him.

With that being said, I hope you will find fellowship, and growth in the Bible, while asking those you come into contact with here, questions. Most are pretty friendly, except until you get them into a theological discussion! Then it's almost no hold bars infighting! I guess one can say just like a family of sorts, if at time dysfunctional at times!

lol - I'll try to remember the guy thing Mika!
On the fights. Well, it really comes down to Scripture/Bible, vs our feelings and usually our upbringing, friends, etc. and arguing about dotting "i's" and crossing "t's"

God has His way, and they don't necessarily require our agreement to them, though He will let us learn the hard way because of course we believe we know better. lol Which becomes more evident as we draw closer to Him.

Hi, what is ToS? In my world its 'Thoracic outlet syndrome' I think this space is too fundamentalist for me rather than for those with thoughtful & serious enquiry. I too was hoping to find kind people on similar journeys, so I'm probably out of here in a few days. Have you tried 'Nomads' forum? Its UK based but the only gentle space I've found for people with faith but who have been hurt by the church or certain doctrines. Best wishes.

Ah, good that you're out, that kind og thing would mess you life up. It can be a process removing the influence from your life though.

Well, I think not the ideas themselves would do that but the people who are in that sort of communities. They're not reliable, respectful and hold no dignity or honesty whatsoever. They do what fits them right, even if it's clearly harmful to themselves or others around.

Interesting. I've heard it said ' you become like the G/god you worship' I take it to mean that if the people claiming allegiance to a certain philosophy, ideology or deity behave in a certain way that usually shows what they truely believe about that ideology or being. I think Jesus showed He believed God had time and care for people rejected by society rather than the religious community. I like that as an example to aspire to.
