My friend found out this week from her husband that he feels their marriage was a mistake. He claims got caught up in the wedding ceremony, and feels he shouldn't have married her b/c he loves her, but not enough to be married. He said he was a christian, and went along with everything in the pre-marital counseling they did with the pastor -- but he told her tonight he had doubts all along.
We were praying that he would change, and want to work at the marriage but it doesn't seem like he wants to work on their marriage, he just wants to divorce. She is devastated...not only does she not believe in divorce as an option, but she loves him and wants to be married to him.
We think his Christianity might have been in his head, and perhaps this is happening to get it into his heart - but he's so fixated on divorce that he's not considering any options. He's staying for the week to "try and get the feelings", but it doesn't seem too hopeful.
My friend doesn't know what to do, she's been terribly hurt by men, and she thought God had finally brought her the right one - and I don't know if her faith can survive this hit. She is believing on God for a miracle, but if her husband leaves -- she will need the miracle so she doesn't give up on God. Their 1 year anniversary is supposed to be June 6th.
