I have had a chance and time to visit the so called MORMONS who believe in MORMONISM. I have heard what they say by their mouths about the Book of Mormon and its associated beliefs. The people I managed to meet were what they call sisters and elders (in Windhoek, Namibia).
First and foremost I want to mention the fact plainly and clearly and simply that the book of Mormon is quite misleading and bizarre a theological doctrine.
The amazing thing is that the things they want to clarify or “correct” which were “erroneously” changed have been properly explained in the bible. According to one of the elders, “the bible contradicts itself” and he cited the issue of Exodus 33. But to tell you elder; the OT & NT are absolutely in agreement with each other and the OT pointed to the coming of the NT and it did happen. The issue of Exodus 32 verse 7-11, falls out of context and don’t take it as one story to verse 12. From verse 7-11 the writer is talking about Moses at an unspecified time and not relating it to the immediate context/event/incident. From verse 6 the story goes to verse 12. I did not need to research/find out about that, I prayed about it and God showed me that when I re-read the chapter.
Concerning the “sisters” I met on my first and second visit, I have to say the sisters are “ignorant” of the bible and how it has affected this world. I asked them about preachers, authors who have written and commented on the bible and they said they did not know any of them that I mentioned, save one who had a clue about one American pastor. They professed ignorance. They read the bible (probably) but don’t study or find out concerning it……. They say Jesus came back to ordain new apostles; JOHN SMITH and Company! What Jesus are they talking about?
