I thought of you today,
In a most unusual way.
I thought I was over the pain,
So that only the good remained.
The memories of losing you,
Crept up on me. What could I do?
Should I stop watching movies of old?
Their plots, some dumb and some just so cold.
But, when I see a family in mourn…
I remember when my heart was torn.
So, when I see the sun go down,
Or take a ride around the town,
You are in my thoughts and heart,
From the loss I can’t depart.
When oh when will this pain subside,
When will the happiness abide?
I want to cherish the memories of you,
But, the pain, loss and hurt, still, will never do…
So, I seek the solitude as my tears do flow,
Another day goes by, and in my heart I know…
Though I may never be free from the pain,
Some how, some way, there will be joy again.
So I fall to my knees and I sob in prayer,
I ask for relief, and I find some while there.
My heart weak with sorrow, my breath is so faint,
Memories I’ve, captured, an artist with paint.
So deep is the pain, the hurt I can’t bear,
I look to the sky and wish I were there…
With you…
