Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

WHAT IN THE WORLD...?

Most of us have heard or even used expressions that we might not think much anout as to the meaning if we were to actually consider our words.
When we stop and consider what we say and decide to back our words up with integrity we often find that we would be wiser and often much kinder to choose a better way to speak.
We are exhorted to speak well and yet too often we neglect to do so.

If we re-word our words (our talk: our conversation: our communication) we can find that the expressions we once used take on a new meaning and the Light reveals to us truths that we seek for as God's children.

Have you heard or said, “What in the world are you doing?” OR “What in the world are you (or were you) thinking?”
“What in the world makes you say that?”

Now, if we stop and consider, 'what in the world' is the question at hand.
So, what in the world drives you OR are there things in the world that do drive you to act or react. Sometimes we might do things in a worldly (fleshly) way according to our own flesh or according to the sway of the world. (Ephesians 2:3)

If so, then you do well to stop and turn (to Jesus Christ) and walk according to the Spirit, no longer giving place to the devil or the fleshly lusts of the world.

At the same time, if we were to ask, “What in the world are you doing?”, we might do well to honestly ask if we are indeed doing anything of furthering the Gospel in the world.

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Philippians 3:20

Bless you ….><>

2 Corinthians 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

Ephesians 4:20-24 But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard Him, and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

1 Peter 1:15 But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

I do much better with the written communication then in the verbal.
One allows you time before you hit the enter button on the keyboard.
The other verbal, is a viper waiting to react to sound. Has me asking pardon many a time, when greater control/focus would prevent much damage to self and others.
My understanding on why my hearing is not what it once was provides me greater focus on the latter :)
Thanks for sharing brother.
