I just wanted to see if any of you have any Holy Spirit guided revelation on whether ALL Martial Arts forms are derived in the Occult or not?
The reason why I ask is because I know that anything of the Occult or associated with divination is an abomination to God and I currently have my 7 year old son in the Tae Kwando Martial Arts primarily to instill the discipline and respect as I am a single-parent and the the disciplinarian aspect of parenting is often challenging for me.
I have been told that not all forms of Martial Arts have their basis in Eastern Mysticism, but have read otherwise. I've known members in my spirit-filled church who have supposedly done research to find out that not all forms have the spiritual component, but certain forms are based explicitly on the art of war. I recently read an article of a former practitioner of 5 years who converted to Christ that now believes all forms are a detriment to Christians. I do not know enough about the origins of this practice although I believe I have enough information to know to stay away from the "Zen" or spirituality side of these practices.
The bottom line--Are all forms of Martial Arts Satanic practices or is this something else Satan has perverted to steal what God has created and illegally take for his own? Satan will try and pervert EVERYTHING God has created for his glory and use to advance his evil purposes. (Example, same-sex marriage, Rap/Rock Music, the Internet to name a few) but does that include Martial Arts? Or is this just plain false religion? I would appreciate comments that have been spiritually researched and documented with the Word. Thanks!
