In the Lord Jesus Christ I greets you all,

34. Now when they shall fall, they shall be helped with a little help; but many shall join themselves unto them with flatteries (Dan 11:34)

The Roman church was a one of them who join it itself in the christianity by flatteries, and today churches are still in this same way, because they do not follow the true christian traditions, but have made some own traditions to follow.

Separate from this kind of group's who do not want to follow our Lord in honest heart

Daniel 11: 32-35 is an insertion of prophecy which is not directly focused upon the main topic of Daniel 11, which is the conflict between the king of the north and the king of the south. There must be ways in which the prophecy of Daniel 11: 32-35 is related to that struggle between the king of the north - the northern industrial nations, or NATO, under usury banking - and the mostly Islamic nations which tend to be in the south. A big part of this prophecy of Daniel 11: 32-35 is about God's people who are corrupted by "flatteries" and others of God who remain strong, do exploits and in their understanding instruct some of those who have been corrupted. "Flatteries" in Daniel 11: 34 means being smooth, of a treacherous spirit, or slippery. Genesis 3: 3 says the serpent who deceived Eve into a dialogue with him, to do the dialectic on her to lead her out of her obedience to God, was "more subtle than any beast of the field." Its talking about the use of deception in leading those who claim to be Christians away into doctrines that contradict scripture.

Daniel 11: 32-35 is not just about the falling away of the multitude at times in the history of redemption, such as happened when the Catholic Church rose up and is happening now to the protestants. Its also about God's use of a a people to counteract that falling away. Those with understanding instructing many can apply to the Apostles in the First Century, and to a small group who do the same centuries later.

they shall receive a little help. Possibly this is a reference to Mattathias, an elderly priest, and his five sons (John, Simon, Judas, Eleazar, and Jonathan) who waged a guerrilla war against the forced hellenization of the Jews. Mattathias died in 166 b.c. His sons, known as the Maccabees, carried on the struggle. Victory was achieved under Judas Maccabeus in December, 164 b.c., when the temple was cleansed and daily sacrifices were restored (1 Macc. 4:36–39).

The Bible Panorama

Daniel 11
V 1: MESSENGER AND MICHAEL Daniel’s messenger reveals to Daniel that he also supported the chief angel, Michael.

V 2–35: HISTORY AND HARMONY
The detailed prophecies of the kings mentioned in this passage are many. Much of this deals with the conflict between the Egyptian kings from the south and the Syrian kings from the north. Historians tell us that the pinpoint accuracy of this chapter is such that it is easy to identify the specific kings who have been involved in history. From verse 21 onwards, the references seem to fit Antiochus IV Epiphanes, the most cruel king from the north. Those denying the Bible give a strange testimony to the accuracy of the record of God’s inspiration, by suggesting that this chapter could only have been written after the events prophesied! This is an unintended compliment to the accuracy of God’s Word!

V 36–45: ANTIOCHUS AND ANTICHRIST
Unlike the earlier verses in the chapter which can easily be seen to refer to Antiochus Epiphanes, it is accepted by most commentators that verses 36 to 45 cover events to come that were not fulfilled in his life. Antiochus Epiphanes is thus not only the subject of near-time prophecy, but also a type of Antichrist for the end times. The seventieth week of years is nowhere spelled out in the Bible, but many think that verses 36 to 45 deal with what will happen in those last seven years, on the assumption that this speaks of the arrival of Antichrist. After all his evil, power, and influence, it is good to note that under the hand of the Sovereign God ‘he shall come to his end and no one shall help him’. God has all power.

The angel in Daniel 10 who brought Daniel the prophecies recorded in Daniel 11 - and continued in Daniel 12 - said in Daniel 10: 14, "Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days."Dispensationalism starts from the assumption - or postulate - that Old Covenant Israel remains a separate people of God from what it refers to as the Church. For dispensationalism then, "thy people" in Daniel 10: 14 can only be Old Covenant Israel, and cannot be the dispensationalist Church. This is why dispensationalists cannot interpret anything in Daniel 11 or 12 as being about the Christian era. It is also one reason why dispensationalism cannot see the four beast empires of Daniel 7 as being after the Cross and why its followers cannot see the first beast of Revelation 13 as having traits of three of the post-Cross beast empires in Daniel 7

But when are the latter days? Are the latter days just any time period after Daniel was writing? Or in scripture is there a consistent definition of the latter days?

In Daniel 2: 28 it says the God in heaven reveals secrets and makes known to Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. This prophecy was for four pre-Cross kingdoms and the kingdom of God is said to arrive during one of these. Yet Daniel 2: 44 is a prophecy saying that the kingdom of God shall never be destroyed and that it shall stand forever. The latter days in Daniel 2 also refers to a time period beyond the Cross.

The angel says "for yet the vision is for many days." This is talking about something much more than three hundred years or so until the time of Antiochus and the Little Horn episode of Daniel 8: 8-11 when The Greek Seleucid Empire ruled over the Jews and some of them defected to the Greek pagan culture. The vision goes into the Christian era. And just as Daniel 11: 32-35 is an insert about prophecy not directly focused upon the conflict between the king of the north and the king of the south, so several verses in Daniel 12 deal with the time of the end.

The timeline of the prophecies that the angel in Daniel 10 gave to him are not limited to the period of the rise of the Greek empire of Alexander the Great and of the struggle between the Seleucid and the Ptolemaic dynasties after Alexander's death.. The prophecies of Daniel 11 and 12 are much greater and sweeping in time that being merely focused upon that pre-Cross period in the Middle East.

Daniel 10:14 says "Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days." The angel sent from God to give Daniel the prophecies in Daniel 11 and 12 tells Daniel that he, the angel, was sent to make Daniel understand what was to happen to his people in the latter days, and that this vision is for many days.

The Pharisees of Christ's time would have insisted that "thy people" must be Old Covenant Israel, the people of Judaism of the period of time in which the Pharisees led Old Covenant Israel. However, several of the Old Testament prophets were given some information on the remaking of Old Covenant Israel, especially the writer of II Kings (II Kings 21: 13), Isaiah in Isaiah 29: 16, Jeremiah in Jeremiah 18: 1-6, Hosea in Hosea 2: 23 and Haggai in Haggai 2: 9. Why would not Daniel also have some knowledge, though seen through a glass darkly, of the remaking of his people Old Covenant Israel? Even if Daniel was not given specific information on that remaking of Israel to come we can, by use of Isaiah 28: 10 -"For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little -" use these other Old Testament prophets to interpret who "thy people" are in the latter days where this vision is for many days. Daniel's people in the Christian era after the Cross are Israel remade in Jesus Christ.

Christ warned of the leaven of the Pharisees in Matthew 16: 6, and in Matthew 16: 12 he explained that the leaven of the Pharisees - and of the Sadducees -was their doctrine. The leaven of the Pharisees - their doctrine - is made manifest in the Little Horn of Daniel 7: 8, 20-21. The Little Horn of Daniel 7: 8, 20-21 is the same as one of the heads of the first beast whose deadly wound was healed in Revelation 13: 3-5. Note that in Daniel 7:8 the Little Horn has a mouth speaking great things, and in Revelation 13: 5 the head on the first beast whose deadly wound was healed has a mouth speaking great things.

The leaven of the Pharisees would lead to the view that "thy people" of Daniel 10: 13 must be Old Covenant Israel and cannot be any other. The leaven of the Pharisees in the timeline of Christians would also lead to supporting the doctrine that the Old Covenant people of God, by their physical bloodline, still exist as the chosen people.

Israel reborn in Christ (John 3: 1-6) took on the role of Israel shining the light of God into those not of the Old Covenant bloodline. Christ the hope of glory - Christ in you (Colossians 2: 27) - comes into them. Israel remade as a spiritual house (Jeremiah 18: 4, I Peter 2: 5,9) took on, in the era of the New Covenant, the role of Israel shining the light to those not of the bloodline (Isaiah 42: 6).

Hosea 2: 23 says "...I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people: and they shall say, Thou art my God."

Hebrews 10: 9: "He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second." In remaking Old Covenant Israel, to fulfill Jeremiah 18: 1-6 - as well as II Kings 21: 13 and Isaiah 29: 16 - Christ took away the Old Covenant that he could establish the New Covenant.

Then, in Haggai 2: 9 that prophet states that "The glory of this latter house shall be greater than that of the former, saith the Lord of hosts..." The latter house is seen in Jeremiah 31: 31-33, on the New Covenant, but here Jeremiah does not explain what changes are to be made as God is to remake Old Covenant Israel, except that in the New Covenant God will put his law in their inward parts and write it in their hearts. Christ in John 3; 1-6 tells Nicodemus, a Pharisee, that in order to get into the kingdom of God anyone must be born again. Paul explains what being born again involves, and Christ in you is a big part of that transformation.

“I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles” (Isaiah 42:6).

Paul explains a part of this remaking of Old Covenant Israel to the Romans

“Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the (Old Covenant) law…And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness…but the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you.....For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly...which is outward in the flesh. But he is a Jew which is one inwardly....in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." (Romans 2:17, 19, 24, 28-29).

In the book of the Acts Paul states that God has revealed that under the New Covenant, the born again body of Christ fulfills the prophecy in which Israel is the light to the Gentiles:

“For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed." (Acts 13:47-48).
