Many especially conservative Christians today totally ignore what Jesus clearly has commanded us to do, which is to put our weapons away; "for all who live by the sword will die by the sword." Jesus says this in the midst of Roman soldiers waiting to take him away to be crucified, making this an extremely brave and powerful statement. "The sword" was the symbol of the might of the Roman Military. Jesus repeats this warning to put our weapons away again in Revelation 13:10, with the added "Those who have an ear, let them hear."
Many Conservatives refuse to support sane gun legislation, even though such legislation clearly minimizes mass shootings in Europe and elsewhere. Every European nation averages two mass shootings or less annually, while the U.S. consistently has four to five hundred mass shootings or more each year. Australia has very few since banning AR-15's and similar mass-repeating weapons, which do not belong in a sane society.
Both Trump and Hegseth have stated more than once that the U.S. has already won the war in Iran, which most obviously the U.S. has not. The U.S. position is far worse off than before the war began. Today, unlike under Obama and Biden, Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz and is refusing to give up their nuclear weapons program. There is no way for the U.S. to dismantle Iran's nuclear material short of a massive ground invasion, that would result in the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians and U.S. troops.
Trump lies to the American people on a daily and ongoing basis about all manner of things, clearly demonstrating he has little to no moral compass. The Bible says God "hates a lying tongue" and Jesus says the devil is "the father of lies." This is how badly Trump lied to the American people during his campaign.
“I’m going to be the one that keeps you out of war”; “we’re not going to have war in the Middle East”; and “they said, ‘You will start a war.’ I’m not going to start a war. I’m going to stop wars.”
As recently as this week, Trump lied and denied on national television what he clearly numerous times promised the American people, that if he was elected, there would be no wars and especially, no Middle East wars. Trump has made numerous overt racist statements, including publicly calling poor Latino immigrants who Jesus dearly loves, "animals" and claiming "they are poisoning our blood"; such overt racist lies come directly from Hitler's playbook against Jews and Gypsies.
In Matthew 25, Jesus says "I was a stranger and you took me in." Instead, the United States is imprisoning, torturing and deporting immigrants, many of whom are Christians, to some of the worst nations and prisons on earth. The Trump administration is actively attempting to revoke green cards and work visas and arresting and deporting immigrants who are here legally and have legally done everything right.
Why are so many Christians today defending this liar, convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, overt racist and fraud???
