The Lord is my Strength and my Song, and He has become my Salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. The Lord is a Man of War; the Lord is His name. Exodus 15:2-3 AMPC

There’s a word that describes someone who is able to turn rivers to blood, control the angel of death, and destroy an army of battle-tested charioteers with the pen-up force of billions of gallons of water: terrifying.

When God brought the Israelites out of Egypt, His chosen people must have been both elated to have Him on their side and scared witless at the thought of being His subjects. This God, who had promised land and prosperity to their forefathers, had allowed them to become an Egyptian slave force. Then, after long years of whispered retellings of His promises, God showed up in force to set His people free.

Thousands of years later, God is still fighting to free His people from slavery. This time, from sin itself. We would do well to remember the joy—and the terror—of being called His people and praise Him from our hearts accordingly. Remember: “The Lord is a man of War; the Lord is His name.”

Prayer: Lord, You are more than a loving Father; You are a Warrior who fights for His people. Keep me from trying to fight battles by myself when You are eminently more equipped to fight on my behalf.

Rev 19:11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.
12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself.
13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.
14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses.
15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.

Every spot in OT where GOD or LORD is--Men by satans will removed the tetragramoton=YHWH--Only the wicked fear using Gods name in vain. The righteous love using Gods name. LORD is a title, not a name. I hope this helps.
