For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 KJV
God does good work. He made the heavens and the earth, light and darkness, the sun and the moon, and everything living beneath them. After making each thing. He declared it to be good. Then on the final day of creation, God made man and woman in His own image. Genesis 1:31 says, “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day .”
You are God’s handiwork, crafted in His image to reflect His goodness to the world. When sin entered the picture, the reflection needed to be redeemed before it could be seen. Just as God created humans, Jesus created the way for humanity to be right with God again. Why? So we could fulfill our original purpose.
Since you have been made in God’s image, and He is the original doer of good works, you have been made for good works too. When your relationship with Him is right, your good works make it possible for others to see His reflection living in you.
The works are not the way to the relationship but the result of it. Can people see God’s image reflected in your works?
