How amazing are the deeds of the LORD! All who delight in him should ponder them. Psalm 111:2 NLT
He flung the stars more efficiently than anyone who has played disc golf. He orchestrates the changing of seasons while you sigh and change the channel on your television. He has a storehouse for rain, and it’s still stocked. God’s deeds are wonderful, even when we take them for granted.
King David suggests that pondering the things God does, provides, and promises is a wise use of time. This may not make sense to people who don’t know Him, but for the rest, this is a trip down Memory Lange. Mankind has seven wonders they recognize. All are a nod to things humans created. Impressive? Sure, but there are millions of things God created just by speaking—yet those things are often overlooked. You might even enjoy them without ever really thinking about Him.
Today’s verse suggests that this level of forgetfulness needs to change. Spend a little more time today considering the beauty, value, and creativity of your impressive God. Then take your worship and pass it His direction.
Prayer: God, when I’m outside, I can see so many things You created. You say You created these things to help me ponder You. Thank You for each new discovery. May there be many more to come.
