Love your enemies

Personally, I think it's fairly easy to love one's enemies; while extremely difficult to hate one's kin.

Luke 14:26 . . If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters-- yes, even his own life --he cannot be my disciple.

The Greek word translated "hate" in that passage is miseo (mis-eh'-o) which basically means to detest; defined by Webster's as loathing.

It's easy to loathe the Devil; but how am I supposed to loathe my kin when they mean so much to me?

you can, but be aware, he is trying to fool you all the time, expect to trick you, make you sick, make your days miserable.
Best not draw his attention at you. Especially when you are weak in faith. Give all your attention to God instead.
