What few people understand is that by the crucifixion of Jesus He opened the door to God's Kingdom for us, but He also gave us very clear instructions how to get there (His pure teachings of love and forgiveness)
We all have a will of our own, we can either go through this door, fold our arms with the words "I am saved by grace only and all else necessary is faith, go no further than the door or we can follow the Commandments and teachings of Jesus walk the narrow road, grow spiritually by leaps and bounds grow close to God, make the absolute most of our life on earth and reap all the rewards (in heaven) that goes with it.
But there is a danger to the door sitter, here it is MATT 7:24 "Anyone who listens to my teachings and obey me is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock". "But anyone who ignores my teachings it is foolish"....... when every thing is starting to fall apart around that person (storms of life) his faith in God will crumble and fall apart.
When the expert in religious law ask Jesus "teacher what must I do to inherit eternal life" what did Jesus answer?
"Love your neighbor as yourself" the parable of the good Samaritan followed, the meaning: help others without expecting something in return
When the rich man ask Jesus "teacher what must I do to get eternal life" what was the answer "obey the commandments"
When Jesus was ask what the most important commandments are, what did Jesus answer "Love God, Love your neighbor as yourself"
On Judgment day what is the Questions that's going to be ask "Did you feed me when I was hungry, did you clothe me when I was naked" and so on, meaning (did you love your neighbor as yourself)
JAMES 2 :12 WHENEVER YOU SPEAK OR WHATEVER YOU DO, REMEMBER THAT YOU WILL BE JUDGED BY THE LAW OF LOVE, THE LAW THAT SET YOU FREE
(taken from 1 cor 13)IF You could speak any language on heaven or earth, but didn't LOVE others, it would be meaningless.
If you have the gift of prophesy, and knew everything of anything, but didn't LOVE others, what good would it be.
Even if you have enough faith that you could speak to mountains to make it move, but didn't LOVE others, what good would you be to anybody.
There are three things that will endure, faith, hope and love- and the greatest of the three is love.
For those of us that love God with every fiber of our being, we will walk in obedience and love towards God, we help others because of our love and compassion for those that suffer.
1 John 3:11
This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
1 John 3:14
But a person who has no love is still dead.
1 John 3:17 If someone has enough money to live well and sees a person in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
1 John 4:17 And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect.
1 John 4:18 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
2 John 1:6 Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another.
1 Peter 4:8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
1 John 2:10( Anyone who loves another is living in the light and does not cause others to stumble.
Galatians 5:13
Use your freedom (free will) to serve one another in love
Galatians 5:14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Ephesians 5:2 Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ
