Jesus love me, this I know. For the Bible tells me so...
Yes He does love us. But the question I have for you is... do you love Him?
Opening Scripture:
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”* — John 14:15
“On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”* — Matthew 22:40

I. The First and Greatest Commandment
Deuteronomy 6:5** — Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength.
- This is not a suggestion. It’s a **requirement**.
- Love is not just emotion or confession — it’s **devotion** expressed in **action**.

II. Love Is Not Separate from the Law
Romans 13:9–10** — Paul says the commandments are summed up in “love your neighbor.”
Matthew 22:37–40** — Jesus says all the Law and Prophets hang on love for God and neighbor.
- The **moral law** teaches us **how to love**:
- Don’t murder → value life.
- Don’t steal → respect property.
- Don’t commit adultery → honor marriage.
- Don’t lie → protect truth and reputation.
The law is our tutor on how to love.**

III. Obedience Is Not a Work — It’s Love
Luke 17:7–10 — The servant doesn’t get rewarded for doing what he’s supposed to do.
- Keeping commandments is not “earning” — it’s **expected**.
- **Works** (feeding the hungry, visiting the sick) go beyond commandments — they are **Spirit-led acts of love**.

IV. Love for God Must Be Proven
1 John 4:20 — You can’t love God and hate your brother.
1 John 2:3–6 — If we say we know Him but don’t keep His commandments, we’re lying.
John 14:21 — The one who keeps His commandments is the one who loves Him.
