“Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. For this, ‘You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,’ and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” (Romans 13:8-10 NASB1995)
To love is to prefer, to prefer to live through Christ, embracing God’s will, choosing his choices, and obeying them through his power. It is to prefer what God prefers which is all that is holy, righteous, godly, morally pure, upright, honest, faithful, and obedient to our Lord and to his commands. So to love one another with this kind of love will never involve lying to people just to make them feel good, but it will mean to do for others what is for their good (welfare), and to speak truth to them for their good, too.
But “good” should be defined by God and by the Word of God and not by the flesh of humans. For good must agree with God and with righteousness, holiness, and moral purity. It isn’t all just about what makes us feel good emotionally, but actually what is for our good, in our best interest, i.e. what we really need. What is sinful might feel good to the one committing the sin, but it is not good. Believing lies which make people feel good is also not for our good, but it is to do us harm, even if emotionally it feels good to some.
Now, as followers of Jesus Christ we should take no pleasure in sin or in lies, but we should be those who have died with Christ to sin and who are now following our Lord in walks of obedience to his commands. We should desire what is of God, and what is holy in his sight, and we should turn away from all that is wicked and harmful to ourselves and to others. Therefore we should not be those who hate, who murder, who commit adultery, who steal, who lust, who lie, and who willfully do harm to others to feed the flesh.
For love does no wrong (knowingly, deliberately) to a neighbor (any other human being). And that includes no lying to other humans just to make them feel good, or so they will like us, and so they will not reject us. And lying can sometimes involve willfully withholding the truth from people that they need to hear or that is their right to know. And willfully giving people false impressions is also lying, and it is deceiving and manipulating. For lying to people is never kind, even if it is to try to make them feel good.
But truth spoken must be spoken in love and in kindness, but never to the point of compromise of truth or withholding of truth needed and critical to life. Jesus was gentle with some people, but he spoke strongly and directly to others. But even in his gentleness he did not withhold the truth necessary to salvation and to eternal life with God so as not to offend someone. So many people are being given this idea today that calling out sin, and calling people to repent and to obey God is harsh and unloving. Not the truth!
The most loving thing we can do for others is to share with them the truth of the gospel as Jesus and as his New Testament apostles taught it, in the proper biblical context. And they all emphasized God’s requirements that we deny self, die to sin daily, and walk (in conduct) in obedience to our Lord as the outgrowth and the evidence that our faith is genuine biblical faith which will result in salvation from sin and eternal life with God, as long as we continue in those walks of faith in obedience to our Lord until the very end.

Woe to me should I not preach Jesus.
I’m compelled to preach the full gospel.
I make myself a slave to ev’ryone
To win their hearts to Christ.
All this I do for my Lord Jesus,
And for the sake of His Name;
Do it for the sake of His gospel,
So that I, its blessings gain.
Scripture notates the sins of others;
Written down for us as examples
To keep us from setting our hearts
On evil as did those of old.
Do not worship other gods of man;
Do not give your hearts to them;
Not partake in immorality.
Do not test your Lord and King.
So, be careful if you think you are
Standing firm in your faith in Jesus.
God has given his word to warn us,
So through faith we will not fall.
No temptation has o’ertaken you
Except what is commonplace.
God is faithful to not let you be
Tempted past what you can bear.
He gives the way of escape.
