Have you ever found yourself, even if only a little bit, secretly condemning certain people—or groups of people—as beyond God’s reach, as headed to hell with no hope of a course correction?
From a purely natural perspective, it can be hard to understand how God could save those we consider the vilest of sinners. But God has been doing just that from the very beginning. More times than we can possibly know, God has miraculously saved those you might consider beyond reach.
Also, He is giving humans time to turn to Him so that they can live forever with Him. The apostle Peter put it like this. “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
So let God be God and pray that He does the same kind of miracle in others as He did when He saved you.
Prayer: Loving Father, sometimes when I think about sinful people, I forget that You want them to turn away from their sin and toward You. Remind me daily to pray for the people I know who need Jesus. Never allow me to think of anyone as a “lost cause.”
