That caption HAD to have peaked some curiousity. :speaker:

Its important, else this post goes to thread heaven by the end of the day, and I dont get the answer I`m seeking.

No this is not a joke, or I would have put it in the joke thread.

I`ve got a very serious question.

Its something I`ve been wondering for nearly three years.

Why are ya`ll actin` so serious ALL the time?

Yes I said actin`...:suspicious:

I KNOW theres more than me out there who knows laughter is
good for the heart and soul...

Laughter is as essential to fellowship as prayer is to a saint...

...and if we are too saintly to enjoy a good laugh with one another,
we`ve not yet discovered the essence of who our God is...and have tossed away one of the greatest gifts He has given us!

(If you dont believe that, look up joyful in His Word ;)

(this thead is also an excuse to use the smilies I begged Chad for,
and then left him sitting there shaking his head and rolling his eyes cause I`m not using them)

Play ball... :b-ball:

*sigh* :disagree:

...it would`nt BE a problem...if a certain someone would not have put a limit on my making faces... :bored:

:tongue-animated:

24 hours later...

So no buddy took me seriously huh...

And i`m to believe that i`m the only one `round here with a sence of humor...

yah right :weirdo:

I`m allowed >3< faces per post...so I shall make good use of them...:angel-animated:

laughing all the way

Dear Coconut,

I am laughing to tears. Loved reading your post & all those faces (spread out through various e-mails of course...) ;)

You are right about joy! Thanks for the good laugh to my belly - must have been just what I needed.

Hope you have a great and JOYful day!

Well bless my soul!

The angels are singing! :announcementfly:

All is not as hopeless as I had feared!

It has truly dawned a new day in TJ LOL (scuse the pun-ishness)

I happen to know theres a few who have viewed this thread who are tryin to pretend they are the sophisticated serious sort...I might have to start naming names... :hit-with-ball:

C.T. Studd, the renowned missionary to China, India, and Africa, said:

"Faith laughs at the impossible and cries, 'It shall be done."
"I may look a fool or mad,"laughs Faith, "but I'm not such a fool as I look. For I believe in the Great, Infallible God and His Great, Infallible Book."

Sarah, the renowned woman of laughter said:

"Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would suckle children?
YET God has given me cause for laughing, and everyone who has news of it will be laughing with me"

Gen 21:1 And the Lord came to Sarah as he had said and did to her as he had undertaken.

Psalm 81 says "Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob"

....read a little futher down...

(10) "I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it."

Yep, God knows the best medicine ....and Hes undertaken our care from our heads to our feet...

And oh say but i`m sure Chad is glad...

because I think hes quite given up with tryin to keep this one nutty free- lance moderator sedated ...:surrender:

Born with the gift of laughter, and a sense that the world was mad

This is one of the lesser known (and hard to find, being deliberately overgrown with ivy) landmarks of Yale University, these words caused some embarassment to the Yale authorities.

After employing medievalists, classical scholars, and egyptologists in an attempt to discover the source of this quotation, which is carved above one of the doors to the Hall of Graduate Studies, they discovered that it was a joke/hoax perpetrated by the building's architect, John Tuttle.

In a letter of confession written in 1934, he explained "I carved the inscription over the door... The quotation is from novelist Rafael Sabatini's Scaramouche, and the full quote, referring to the hero is "Born with the gift of laughter, and a sense that the world was mad, and that was his only patrimony."

When the administration learned that the line was from a mere contemporary adventure novelist, they immediately planted the ivy that covers it today.

LOL I think I would have really liked Sir Tuttle! :clapping:

P.S.

Tuttle claimed credit for the quote above, but the dean of the Graduate School at the time, blamed it on a foreman named Finnegan. He wrote that Finnegan was "an Irishman of middle age with a battered face of mahogany, with snapping eyes of piercing blue given...to an incessant chatter of frivolity and whimsey" and was "not supposed to exercise any independent authority at all."

Perhaps Finnegan and Tuttle were in cahoots...

Oh yea...i`m IRISH ...explains a lot maybe...:cap:

You know its true...the world is mad...but I want to assure you all I am not. :lookback:

Hosea 9:7 says something about "the man of the spirit being mad"..,
dont think he was saying it like it was a bad thing...:worried:

BTW...look how well the admin is putting up with my uh...gladness...yea thats the word! :giggle:

Oh yea...i`m IRISH ...explains a lot maybe...:cap:[/QUOTE]

Now now lets all be nice to Irish people ,it is known all over the world we Irish ROCK:shade:

LOL !~ ...but of course! :shy-animated:

"It is said that if people start to doubt your sanity, then persist in your madness and they will start thinking that perhaps it is not madness after all, but is a special kind of genius." - Njonjo Mue from Nairobi

Oh yea...i`m IRISH ...explains a lot maybe...

Now now lets all be nice to Irish people ,it is known all over the world we Irish ROCK

Well This August we're welcoming the Irish to the Alexander clan.
