"In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazereth......Rise up and walk" - Acts 3 : 6
Have you ever noticed in your New Testament how the LOrd Jesus likes to deal with long-standing complaints? How many instances there are of men and women who for years had been bound up by one thing or another, infirmity, bondage which made them crippled and helpless and even hopeless , until the risen LOrd came.
The text above,....Peter and John coming to the Temple to worship, and finding at the Temple gate a man lame lifelong....from birth. Peter looked t'ward him and said "Silver and gold I do not have - the church boasted in its bankruptcy in those days - "but such as I have I give unto you....in the Name of Jesus........ Rise up and Walk"
Immediately the man lept to his feet...delivered in a moment from lifelong bondage.
I want to say to you in the Name of Jesus, that there is no habit gone so deep but that the power of the blood of Jesus can go deeper.....There is no entrenchment of sin that has gone so far but that the power of the risen Lord, by His Holy Spirit can go further.
The first mark of the sovreignty of Jesus in a life bound by habits for years, which have baffled our human struggle, bringing shame and confession to our hearts, and failure time and again. Brought to the LOrd in contrition and repentance is broken when He is on the throne
