Todays Devotional - Tuesday February 13th - Godly success
May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. Psalm 20:4
This reading is a lovely image of our generous loving Father. David knew about great success and substantial failure, and wants to encourage us to succeed as well as having dreams and hopes for the future. Where we’ve felt downcast and depressed he reassures us to ‘ask’.

Christians can get a little muddled in the area of success! We long for God to bless our plans and then get embarrassed and apologetic when they go so
well. There is nothing wrong with making plans and seeing them come to fruition. What is wrong though, is forgetting to thank God and acknowledging
His hand in the outcome.

Revealing the desires of your heart to God is one of the most intimate things you can do. You have to be real. You can’t pretend. When you express a longing in your heart to God, you are drawing very close to his heart. I met an American doctor who worked in the Emergency Room and she said that amidst the blood and pain, her prayer everyday was to be so near to God’s heart that she would feel his heartbeat and be literally pumped around the ER as she attended the gunshot wounds, stabbings and traumas. Despite encountering many fatalities in her job, the desire of her heart was to be so close to God that her plans became His plans and His plans became her plans!

Lord God, may I find time to be real with You today. Please help me to reveal the desire of my heart and to offer You all my plans and ideas. In Jesus name. Amen.

Nice devotional ladylovesJesus. My desires of my heart seem to change daily. I seem to be in a boat on the rough waters in a middle of storm, which is not good according to this scripture.

Jam 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

I really would like to spend an evening with Jesus in the flesh, so he can put me right.
