Men today will turn to just about anything as a remedy for their loneliness, guilt, and lack of purpose—including money, status, alcohol, sex, sports, gambling, and gaming.
As a follower of Jesus, you have the antidote to guilt, sin, and separation from God, and He calls you to share the story of His gift of salvation with those who need to hear it.
In today’s scripture passage, Jesus likens Himself to a bronze snake Moses had held up in the wilderness so that the people of Israel could be healed of snakebites (Numbers 21:4-9). To hold Him up in front of hurting, lost sinners, then, is to help them see healing and deliverance from the work of the serpent back in the Garden of Eden.
God has provided your source of healing, forgiveness, and salvation, and His name is Jesus. When desperately needy and hurting people cross your path, have the courage to lift Him up above anything or anyone else.
Prayer: God in heaven, please bring people into my life who need to hear Your message of salvation. And when I talk with them, help me lift up Jesus.
