God says he is spirit and we must worship him in spirit and truth.
What is his truth? Come on, let's live a little and dream of what tomorrow truly brings.
Have you ever asked: "Is there any place in scripture that says what happens after people physically die?" Yes, there is. What about two of them?

First, Ecclesiastes 12:7, "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it."
Ecclesiastes 12:7 describes our physical body (dust) returning to the earth, it does not say our physical body will go to heaven or will be physically alive again after death. Our physical bodies cannot be resurrected in heaven because scripture says that "flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 15:50).

As for our spirit, Ecclesiastes 12:7 says our spirit will return to "God," but notice it does not say it will go to "heaven." God is not only in heaven, but in heaven and earth (Joshua 2:11, 1 Kings 8:23). God is everywhere, even though heaven is His throne (Psalms 11:4, Isaiah 66:1, Matthew 5:34; 23:22, Acts 7:49, Revelation 4:2; 16:17). God is omnipresent. When we are in his realm, so shall we!

Ecclesiastes 3:20-21, "All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward..." All men, both sinners and saints, go to the same place after death (Ecclesiastes 3:20-21). Their physical bodies return to dust (Genesis 3:19, Psalms 104:29), and their spirit returns to God who gave it (Psalms 31:5, Acts 7:59). Man, it sure is going to be nice to be on God's right side and not his left!

My Grandfathers heaven was a lot different than mine, sitting on clouds strumming a harp just doesn't cut it for me. I dream of a place where there is no impossibilities and with a heavenly body just like Jesus. Think about it, Christ died and came back to Earth in his resurrected body. He walked through walls, ate, drank and eveyone recognized him. Who cares how he accomplishes all this, God says we will share in his inheritence; now, I don't know about you but, that is the kind of hope I love to think about!

Another life after death verse: 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Remember above, when we die our physical death, our spirit returns where it came from and we come Face to Face with God. God will look at us this time and he will see the Holy Spirit in us. He will say, hello my good and faithful servant, welcome home! Matthew 25:21. He will glorify us in his presence and we will know him as well as he knows us...can't get more perfect than that!

So, when times are hard and the enemy comes close, thank God for his free gift of grace and let your imagination reach to the stars and beyond. You haven't even begun to live!
