Being part of Christian internet, if that is even a proper term, for about 25 years, watching reading the liberalization of Scripture has become a touchy point. In some what the same way the US Constitution has been diluted.
There are examples throughout this forum and others. The thread on divorce shows how we humans, talk and talk using many words to cloud and justify our less then Godly desires. How we wish to be right in our standing with God while doing what we want or we think is ok.
I accept many passages are by design ambiguous and will be argued and discussed, as before our time until our Lord returns. Not all are written so.
Seems to me as we grow in His Word , in Him the acceptance of 'gray boundries' in our selves should become clearer as we walk the path.
Divorce is not the only subject on my mind. The churches are accepting of many 'sex' sins excusing them because most of us are guilty in one way or another, would be my guess. There is a fine line between being open and welcoming and approval. It is not sin that is cast to hell it is unrepentant sinners. We dont tell the diabetic eat all the junk you want God loves you.
Speaking as an American , we have given our God given responsibilities over to the government (thinking here of the widows and fatherless) we send our children to the state to be taught, look at our streets. We find excuses in isolated Scriptures for men fleesing the sheep and therefore do not hold them accountable.
With my own guilt off my soap box
