For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:8
God is the only One who can accomplish anything. This is why Jesus said in John 15:5-6 "I am the vine, you [are] the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw [them] into the fire, and they are burned."
A dry, withered branch bears no fruit. How could it? It's dead. You wouldn't expect a lopped-off branch to bear fruit. No more can you, unless you remain firmly attached to God, receiving the life-giving sap of His Spirit. "He that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit [with Him]" (1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV). You have to trust and depend on God to cause you to bear fruit by His Spirit dwelling in you.
God has a job for you--to share the life-giving Gospel with people. But apart from Christ, you're dead and withered. You can't cause life to spring forth in anyone else if you aren't connected to God yourself. So stay firmly attached to God, and allow Him to work in and through you.
Prayer: Jesus, please keep me connected to You, so that I can pass on Your Holy Spirit and eternal life to others.
