Let Go

The following is a very meaningful story, which is called "Let Go", and written by Dr. Billy Graham.

A little child was playing one day with a very valuable vase. He put his hand into it and could not withdraw it. His father too, tried his best, but all in vain. They were thinking of breaking the vase when the father said, "Now, my son, make one more try. Open your hand and hold your fingers out straight as you see me doing, and then pull."

To their astonishment the little fellow said, "O no, father. I couldn't put my fingers out like that, because if I did I would drop my penny."

Smile, if you will--but thousands of us are like that little boy, so busy holding on to the world's worthless penny that we cannot accept liberation. I beg you to drop the trifle in your heart. Surrender! Let go, and let God have His way in your life.

Something I've been learning to do myself. It's odd that we have a hard time to let go and let God.

i am learning to trust him more also. a good song to go with this is glory glory hallelujah (since i laid my burdens down) i mean as in to celebrate when you let go of that penny finally.

That is because of the way we were brought up. We were always told to be a man and take care of business. When we should have been told to pray for guidance first and act second.

Interesting that you used a penny because I have another story about someone collecting pennies and what he missed out on by doing so. I'll post it here one day. Keep an eye out for it.

i used penny in refrence to your story.

keeping a eye out for the next story. i enjoy wisdoms hid in little storys. i also enjoy interesting facts like the scripture talking about it is easier for a man to go thru the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven. well between jeusalem and bethleham there is a rock that is a double arch and touches at the top called "the eye of the needle". this rock is on a trail thats taken by travelers often. (you can find a pic on the internet i am sure) thus all things are possible with God cuz he made the earth and there is an eye of the needle men go thru.
