I have recently come into ownership of the book of Mathew in latin. I am going to translate it and was wondering if anyone out there knows latin and can help me out. I want to cross reference translations and see what we get.

Sorry Chum....I struggle with English never mind Latin......HaHaHa Go to.....and God Bless

Latin...

I don't think I'd have the time these days to devote to a line-by-line translation of Matthew from Latin to English.

However, I can recommend a few decent sources.

Medieval Latin: An introduction and Bibliographical Guide by A.G. Rigg and

Medieval Latin by K.P. Harrington were both good.

Of course, depending on how old your copy is, you may need works that tackle even older versions of the language.

One of my favorite resources is Original Languages Library CD-ROM - Logos Bible Software. The good news is that it covers pretty much all of the Biblical languages. The bad news is that it's about a 300.00 investment.

However, if you are near a seminary, they will sometimes have a site license so that you can go there and use the software without charge. Sometimes the service is only available to students, but sometimes it's available to anyone.

Enjoy your studies and God bless you :)
