This is a Jan Devotional - Replies to @jaboyle100

Are you fighting the good fight of faith?-1 Timothy 6:12. Are you being tempted by the enemy to give up? Mark 14:38-Keep watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Are you leaning your whole personality on God in complete trust and confidence? Are you praying night and day that God will strengthen you and guide your steps? The enemy will try to get you to take your mind off Christ and put it on yourself. He wants to control your steps and get you thinking the way of the world. If I take my focus off Christ and what He did for me at the cross, if I grieve the Holy Spirit, Who is my power source and helps me live a godly life in this wicked world, Who guides my steps; the enemy will use one of his many schemes to move me in a different direction. He wants me to take a few steps his way. The enemy is always trying to get me to live for me. Those who do not know Jesus as their personal Savior are living as the world lives, living to please themselves.

As a Christian, I am called to live a life that is pleasing to God. And without faith, I can not please Him.-Hebrews 11:6. I am able to live a life that is pleasing to God when I allow God, the Person of the Holy Spirit Who dwells within my heart and mind, to help me. He will guide me. He will direct my steps. I need to continually ask Him and then follow His instructions. God has taught me through His Word, if I start focusing on the world and all it has to offer me; I will grieve the Holy Spirit and become frustrated, because I've chosen to move my confidence in Him where there's peace and harmony back on myself. This is where the enemy wants me. The enemy wants to get me back in the world leaning on myself, thinking the way the unbelievers are thinking, living a life of; "Look at me, see what I have (material possessions), see what I do, (pride) and tell the world I am the god of my life. When really they are blind to the fact, that the enemy is really the god of their lives. And we all know what his intentions are; to kill, steal and destroy.-John 10:10.

Many Christians have fallen away from the faith because they listened to the lies of Satan.-Matthew 24:10, Hebrews 6:4-6. They walked away from the One true God whom they loved and obeyed. Somewhere along the way, they gave up. They gave up in their heart first, now it's showing in their lives.
Brothers and Sisters in Christ, it is our responsibility to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. We belong to God! He gave His only begotten Son to die on a cross for us as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. When we accepted this work of Christ, we became a child of the living God. His Spirit lives in us to guide our steps and help us live a godly life, the one He planned for us to live. We have been delivered from the world, the flesh, and the devil. We know the truth! We have been set free!

When I keep my focus on Christ and what He did for me at the cross, when I meditate daily in His Word, when I trust God to strengthen me, and when I allow the Holy Spirit to guide my steps; I can live a victorious life, the abundant life God planned for me to live.-John 10:10. I know who I am in Christ! Galatians 2:20-I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. I will fight the good fight of faith! 1 Timothy 6:12-Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Lord, I pray we will keep our focus on You and what You did for us at the cross. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Love in Christ, Jan
