Just where is God?
A falling economy. Skyrocketing oil prices. The conflict in Iraq. Global Terrorism. Hurricane warnings... We live on a fallen planet. This is certainly not how life was initially intended to be. What are the answers? Who can explain the mess we're in? God alone has the answers. Yet even then I find myself in a harsh dilemma. Just where is God? How do I hear His voice? Show me His face. But no, we must believe God by faith. And in doing so we find our place in the world. Paul encourages us to use our faith in God as a shield against the attacks of our enemy. In Ephesians 6 he tells us that with faith in God and His Word, we can protect ourselves from the lies of satan.
The Apostle Peter reminds us in Chapter 1 of his first epistle, "Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. And even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith - the salvation of your soul." There you have it - your two options. You can despair and doubt, whining and complaining about life not being fair. Or, (and this I know you will do because you have been chosen for this task), you can put your faith and hope in God. You can weather the storms by anchoring your soul on the Rock, Jesus Christ. You can find your shelter behind the Shield of Faith. And you WILL receive the goal of your faith - the salvation of your soul. God be with you all...
