It seems many Christians think about why we do certain things.
Some believe it required for salvation.
Some say it's because God makes us do them.
Some say we shouldn't try to do anything for God.
But what if we just do things for God because we love Him?
This seems to be such a foreign idea to many Christians. I'm not sure why, maybe it's just where our society has gotten us. Everything has become so much about "me" and what I want. The idea of doing things for someone else because you love them is completely alien to some people.
We are called the bride of Christ. I think of some women I know who are wives. Including my own wife.
Some wives do things for their husbands because "they have to".
Or because it's their "wifely duty" or it's an expectation.
But some wives do things for their husbands simply because they love them. They want to make them happy.
To them, they don't look at it like... it's something I "have" to do. But it's something I "get" to do, or something I "want" to do for my husband because I love him.
We can debate over works, and obedience, and the commandments, and all that (we have many times it seems).
But rather than focusing on what we "have" to do for God. How many of us do things for Him simply because
we love Him?
