Job 3:2-6

Job 3:2-6 King James Version (KJV)

2 And Job spake, and said,

3 Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.

4 Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.

5 Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.

6 As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.


2-3 There could two ways to look at this either Job thought the day he was born was cursed because of what was happening to him or he was asking God to curse the day he was born so that he would not be born to deal with the pain he was in.


4 Job knew God had control but for some reason was talking to God about him not being born instead of asking for God’s help, often times during stress we may complain to God but forget we should have been looking to Him for help the entire time.


5 Job knew God’s power was strong the time was nothing compared to the Lord.


6 Job may very likely wish that the day was born never happened, sometimes grief is so bad that we do not see the good that has happened from us being born, Job could not see the good that had happened from his birth.

Not sure I agree with all that but then again I'm not sure that I can say anything better!
Have often thought on these verses and sometimes get snippets of a view of revelation so I shall seek again.
He (Job) had it tough and getting close to what he was saying means we have to dig deep, past the limitations that comfort sets up around us.

In contrast to the day of the Lord,the day of his birth had light and dark parts.
Eternal means no beginning and no end,always was and always will be.

So there is "the Day" that the Lord has made and there was the day that the man was made.

Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Revelation 21:22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
Revelation 21:23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
Revelation 21: 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.
Revelation 21:25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.

It's possible that Job felt that his day and night existence was a curse compared to the eternal light of the Lamb.
Jesus said "Abraham saw my day and was glad".
I think Job saw his day also and understood that a beginning implies and end and the days
of this world are like the experience of this world,having light and dark parts..

Job 2:10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

The fiery trial in Jobs life revealed the declaration of the eternal day.
1 Corinthians 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

This would seem more correct. Job in essence is saying to God that He messed up in planing his birth. Elihu recorded Job as saying "What profit is it to even serve God?" Job's whole attitude toward God was wrong and not one time asked the Lord for Help. Job felt the Lord had done him wrong and spent most his time justifying the fact that He did not deserve what had happened to him. Elihu was the only one that spoke right about God and pinned down exactly what Job did and why Job was experiencing the issues he was going through.

Job is very fascinating, because it can be read wrong if someone does not have a personal relationship with the Lord but reads it with secular understanding. Job has lots of revelation which I am still getting after all these years. .
