Job 1:20-22 King James Version (KJV)
20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

20 Then Job arose and tore his outer garment and shaved his head; then he fell upon the ground and he worshiped. 21 Then he said, “Naked I came out from my mother’s womb, and naked I will return there. Yahweh gives, and Yahweh takes. Let Yahweh’s name be blessed.” 22 In all this, Job did not sin and did not charge God with wrongdoing.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
20 It was common at this time to show grief. Grief comes to us all but perhaps never as it did for Job. Grief and death and losing things are sadly apart of life.
21 Job understood that the Lord blessed him, it is hard to see this when things are going against us, someone did have it out for Job, Satan. Often times when things go for the worst we do not turn to God but turn away. We should look at ourselves to see how we react when things go against what we want or think should be done. Job accepted that God allowed all that had happened.
22 Job stayed true as God said He would, this may have made Satan want to break Job. Job did accept that God undone things but accepted that He could do that and praised Him anyway, Job did not curse God for taking things away from Him, in spite of what had happened Job still knew God should be praised.

Would Job have been blessed had he sinned?

I think you would have to ak God that.

The point is that Satan argued with God that Job's worship of God was conditional on him being so prosperous and was proven wrong. Job lost everything and in his grief still worshiped for the sake of worshiping a God he truly believed in.

The one thing I've noticed that some who are going through conflict. Some who I've spoken directly to who claim to be Christian, somehow forget that we are tested to this very day. The world continually trys to carve away at our spirit and turn our concentration to things of the world, instead of God. They try to take prayer out of School. They try to take "In God we trust" from the currency. They try to remove our symbols from public areas and our crosses from where our loved one's met their end along the roadways. These are all material things and are all things that matter to us, but how do we know they matter to God? The answer is We don't know, but what we do know is he cares for us and he cares for how we treat others.

Material things are just that. Material things. They can be constructed and destroyed by the hand of man, but we, as our lives are concerned can't be. We can be born of Man, but not without the grace of God. It is he who blew the first breath of life and it is he who allows it to continue. Man can kill man, but not man's spirit, since the spirit of man, who gives his life to God will have that life renewed when the time comes.

As far as Sin is concerned. We were born into sin and those who are blessed by God are still under that death warrant. It is through Christ that that death warrent has been set aside and it is our continual worship of God, through Jesus Christ that keeps the door open.

Job was tested by God and so shall we. He was not angered by these tests and we should not be either. This is the teachings that I have garnished from this book and the epifany I had was that when you let the world anger you then you loose the love that we all need to have. Anger, to me is a form of temporary insanity. We can all test this theory be asking ourselves just how many times we have struck out at innocent people because we were angry at something and they were just there and wanted our attention.

To me, anger pushes love out of our hearts and place ourselves self-centerly in place of that. There is no place for anything other than ourselves in our hearts when we are angered. Vengeance is mine sayth the angry person, not Vengeance is mine, sayth the Lord.

We are no more above being tested in our faith than Job was and we are equally tasked to see it through upholding God's glory for truly he does givith and takith away.
