People do not know exactly where Uz was but people thinkaround the Euphrates where the earlier worldwas dominated. Job was never a common name people whether this troy actuallyhappened or was just given by God to teach us things, I think it both s true andwe should learn from it. This does not mean he was without sin because onlyChrist was without sin but says that he served the Lord and was made righteous. He had a respect for God, followed His ways and not the ways of the world.

Big families at that time showed that God had favor foryou. It was also uncommon in those days to include daughters. Most things ofthe time would have just said he had seven sons and some daughters or said hehad seven sons not making mention of the daughters.

This shows his wealth, how God chose to bless him bygiving him wealth. Wealth of that day was measure by what you owned not by themoney you had because at this time they may have not had money but did thingsby trade.

His sons partied everyday; this did not use what God hadgiven them to bless Him they just wasted it. We can be like these sons if weare not careful.

This shows Job’s righteousness, he did not want to evencome close to upsetting God, we often times only do things we are wrong to makethem right, Job wanted to make sure that when his family did wrong they wereforgiven. We can not save others even if we try in the way Job did, Christwould save others by being a sacrifice for us.
