When you say the name Jesus, everyone knows who you are talking about but everyone don't know Jesus. You can know someone's name without knowing who that person really is and that is the case with the God of this entire Earth. With that being said let's dive straight in.
Acts 17: 23
23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
We talking about Jesus and it's time we declare who he is
John 1: 18
18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
No one has seen The Father at ANY time. Then let's investigate this
Exodus 24: 1, 9 - 11
1 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.
9 Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:
10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.
Not once but twice the scripture states that 70 people saw the GOD of Israel. Jesus is not a liar so who is this God they saw then?
John 5: 33, 36 - 37
33 Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
I have heard people made the argument that Jesus meant during his time. However they have no precept to prove that, any time covers all time. Jesus made this statement not once but twice , so it's not a mistake and we know 70 elders saw the God of Israel. Not to mention Moses saw God's shape in the chapter below.
Exodus 33: 18 - 23
18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
So if this is not The Father then who did Moses see?
1 Corinthians 10: 1 - 4
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
Jesus Christ is the God of the old testament and he is the God of the new testament. Jesus is the one who drowned the whole world, he was the one who rained fire down on Sodom and Gomorrah, Jesus met Abraham and tried him and made a covenant with him, that was all Jesus Christ. Paul wrote this yet people like to act like it doesn't exist. So when I hear people say "that's the old testament", I already know Jesus is unknown to he/she and Jesus is unknown because many are not doing what he says.
1 John 2: 1 - 4
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
So Jesus is still an Unknown GOD to all those who don't keep his commandments.

17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
Anyone who opens their mouth and speaks the truth will always sound strange because this world is filled with lies. People preach going to heaven more than they preach the resurrection. Also when the whole world celebrates pagan holidays then those cities are given to idolatry. This is why Solomon said there is no new thing under the sun.
19 And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?
20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)
22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
