Exodus12:13 Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are and when I see the blood I will Passover you and the plague shall not be on you to detroy you when I strike the Land of egypt.
1Peter:18-19 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
In exodus we see the israelites getting ready to be delivered from the bondage that was held over them for many years and in readying themselves they were told to put blood on their door stops on their houses and when God saw the blood then He passed over those houses and they were delivered from plague and death that fell upon the egyptians...this was the first passover.
Years later Jesus would come into Jerusalem with his disciples to celebrate Passover and it was during this passover week that our Lord and Savior would become to us our Passover Lamb. Just as that blood covered the doorstops of the israelites houses do does the blood of the Lamb cover us...Jesus was like a lamb without blemish or spot He was perfect but became sin and bore sin for us so we would not have to suffer in death but instead gain Life in Him. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and acknowledge that He died for us and our transgressions it is then we become covered by His precious blood and God sees this and He delivers us from death...death passes us by and we are redeemed and made free this is our passover my friends...Death has passed us by because Jesus sacrificed Himself so that we could be forgiven and His precious blood now covers us and we are redeemed and in death we will gain new life...a life more wonderful than any we could imagine because in this life we will spend it with Jesus our Lord and Savior In Heaven..I can't imagine things could get any better than that...because they can't.
We were bought with a price..we were't bought with money, silver, gold or jewels we were bought with the precious blood of the Lamb of God...the precious blood of Jesus...Isn't it wonderful to know that Jesus doesn't need us but loves and wants us so much that He gave His life for ours! Lets Praise God for in His son Jesus our Lord and Savior we find the living water and when we drink we never thirst and In Jesus we find life afterlasting! Praise The Lord for He fillith me till overflowing...His love, mercy, grace, and peace fill me and pour forth from..my cup runneth over with Love for my Lord.
Praise Him today my friends and always for it is by His blood you are sanctified and saved...He is our passover lamb!
