SignUp Now!You ready for a question my friend? It is a good one .Jesus is the Prophet prophesied by Moses in Dt. 18:15.
Jesus will be "like me" (Dt. 18:15), that is, like Moses.
And indeed, Moses taught Torah (Dt. 1:3; 5:27-33).
And Jesus also taught Torah (Mt. 5:19; 4:4; 7:21-23; 13:41-42; 22:37; 23:2-3,23,34; Lk. 10:25-28). Thus, Jesus was like Moses.
And Moses warned that a subsequent generation (Dt. 29:22-24) would disobey Torah and be cast out of the land due to the Torah-disobedience (Dt. 29:25). Jesus agrees that the Torah-disobedient will be cast away (Mt. 7:21-23).
Moses also promised that in the latter days, we would return to YHVH (Dt. 4:30) while in distress, and then return to obey 100% of all Torah upon our subsequent return to the promised land (Dt. 30:1-8).
Then, Jesus' desire will be fulfilled finally (Mt. 23:39), as we again obey Torah as Jesus requires (Mt. 23:2-3,23,34).
Much to anticipate for our future in the Messiah!
blessings...
Perhaps looking at the Red Sea situation may help, or perhaps the trials in Egypt, just thinking out loud, no answer for myself yet.
@bibleguy Ok, I'm not trying to open a can of worms, but, lol, since we know that the parallel between Moses and Jesus is very strong, how could one interpret the rapture (and/or) 2nd coming (depending on if you see them as two separate events, or one event, etc) in terms the story of Moses.
Put another way, if what Moses did reflects on what Jesus did and will do,
Does the actions of Moses support pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib, etc?
Just curious.
I laugh in love because I know the rapture discussion can start a firestorm with some people at times.
What are your thoughts my friend and brother in Christ? I haven't thought about the answer yet so it is not a leading question, an honest one seeking reflection.
the trials in Egypt
I think it does suggest rapture at the time of the second comming of Jesus, this is my stance. I used to be pre trib but that has changed over the last year mainly due to mattew 24
