Jaareshiah, let us reason together and seek truth.

Are you ever going to answer the question about

oops. I meant to delete that.

Since I didn't...

Do you consider anyone here at Talk Jesus a "true christian" that rejects the doctrines of the Watchtower?

Is what I said earler true: that "they" believe all of Christendom (Catholics, Baptist, Methodist, Lutherns, Penecostals, etc) are evil and in league with satan and doomed to be destroyed at Armegeddon?

Do you think that we are not deserving of an answer?

You have not denied the points I have made in my previous post regarding key componants of your cult.

Instead you reject Jesus' direct explaination that HE is the door and continue to bow down to the false doctrine of the watchtower that ONLY they are the "little flock". on the narrow road.

The mingleing of truth with deception allows falsehood to become more palitable.
That is what your cult does. They take a scripture out of context and through deception they add a twist to it to create a mandate that you must follow or die at Armegeddon. Wouldn't you rather have truth? And Live? Seeking truth is not a ploy. And reasoning together could unlock your mind to understand that you are in a mind control cult that claims to love but in reality their love is conditional upon your total surrender to THEM. They come between you and God and give you a false god to worship.

In your post you make comments such as "I wontonly fail to understand". and imply that I am not "really sincere". Is that not another ploy of your cult?

That "they" know more than you do and "they" are right because "They" (the FDS) say so, and that "they" have "the truth" and everybody else are misinformed because ONLY "They" can interpret scripture properly, are cult mind control tactics to not only limit information but to demand you submit wholey to them believing every word "they" say or be excluded from the group. If you even question them, you are marked as "spiritually weak". They use guilt and fear to minipulate and control you so you comply with their every whim. You are not allowed to even read anything that "they" say may possibly be disparaging to them.

People that use their God given brains and question the motives and doctrines are "not really sincere". Those "they" deem as "Not really sincere" are marked as "waste of time" and not worthy because we are not intelligent enough to submit to "their" interpretation.

I have the Holy Spirit and He is my interpreter of scripture and Jesus said that He is the door and only through Him can come to The Father. Jesus is the narrow gate. The "few" are those that accept His free gift of Salvation. The many are those that refuse it.

You mentioned that "they" say Jesus said to preach "house to house".

Is that what Jesus said? Lets look at the passages where Jesus sent the deciples out....

Nowhere in these passages does Jesus say to go "house to house"

Now what did Jesus say when he sent out the 72?

What?

Jesus said "do not go house to house"...

It seems you have been obeying the mandates of your cult to not read anything that disparages them, because I have already in previous post addressed ...

~ "how many"

~ The narrow way

~"Jehovah" is not God's name.

Adolf Hitler? you really went there?.. (LOL)

I am well aware of the purple triangle, and I have already posted previously about cowards and their destination.

False "Christians", like those of the inquisition, persecute. True Christians are indeed persecuted.

The deceived believe they are being persecuted for righteousness when in reality the persecution they claim "proves" they are the ONLY true Christians has nothing to do with righteousness at all. They are considered fanatics and delusional for their annoying door knocking during dinner and on Christmas morning and when you are trying to sleep in on Saturday morning. They insist you listen to their practiced speeches when you are in your bath robe and claim they are persecuted when you ask them to leave and when they don't comply, you shut the door on them.

So...

Do you care to point out any error in any of my post?

Have you read any of my post?

Do you believe thinking for yourself (independant thought) is prideful?

I asked that we come together and seek truth because truth will set us free. Is there anything in any of my post that is not truthful?

Are you ever going to answer the question about

Had you done your "homework" sincerely, you would have noticed that Jesus did say to go "from house to house" at Luke 10. At Luke 10:1-7, it says: "After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house."(King James Bible)

Thus, what was Jesus saying ? That having ' entered into a house ' and it is peaceable, then do not be going "from house to house", but stay there as long as there is "peace." Jesus used the Greek word metabaino at Luke 10:7, meaning "to change place."(Strong's # 3327) or transfer. Thus, the seventy disciples that Jesus sent out by twos, were to stay with householder as long there was "peace", speaking with the householder about God's kingdom, and not to be transferring to another home. You are like a person who only looks at things surface wise, and not willing to examine Scriptures deeply, getting "the sense of them."(Matt 13:13)

You consistently give your own personal biased and prejudicial opinion, thinking this has some "weight". You do not carefully give thought to what is true, but have this opposing spirit to Jehovah's Witnesses, of which I am not surprised, for Jesus had already warned that his disciples would be "hated" just as he was.(John 15:18-20)

And as far the name Jehovah in English, it has been in use since John Wycliff (Roman Catholic priest and scholar, died in 1384 C.E.) used it in the edition of his English Bible. In a letter to Pope John XXIII in 1412, Archbishop Arundel referred to “that wretched and pestilent fellow John Wycliffe, of damnable memory, that son of the old serpent, the very herald and child of antichrist.”

Your opposing to the name Jehovah as far as accuracy, is like the bishop of London who commissioned Sir Thomas More to attack William Tyndale in writing. More was particularly upset at Tyndale’s use of the word “congregation” (which is accurate and the Greek word is ek·kle·si´a, meaning "called out") instead of “church,” and “senior” or “elder” rather than “priest.” These words challenged the authority of the pope and the distinction between clergy and laity. Thomas More also condemned Tyndale’s translation of the Greek word a·ga′pe as “love” rather than “charity.” Says the book If God Spare My Life (by Brian Moynahan), “This, too, was a notion dangerous to the Church, for the apparent downgrading of charity might undermine the lucrative donations, indulgences and bequests with which the faithful were persuaded to pave their way to heaven.”

The consonants JHVH (Jehovah in English) corresponds to the four Hebrew letters YHWH. At Exodus 3:15, God told Moses: "And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name forever, and this is my memorial unto all generations."(American Standard Version)

Whether you agree or not is not an issue. Isaiah 42:8 says: "I am Jehovah, that is my name."(Darby's Bible) As God told Pharoah, who disdained Jehovah God: "I have kept you in existence, for the sake of showing you my power and in order to have my name declared in all the earth."(Ex 9:16) Through Isaiah, Jehovah said of those who willingly submit to his rulership: "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea."(Isa 11:9, American Standard Version)

And of Jesus using God's name of Jehovah, he quoted from Deuteronomy 8:3 in his being "tempted" by Satan: "It is written, ‘Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every utterance coming forth through Jehovah’s mouth.’” (Matt 4:4) And again from Deuteronomy 6:16 when before Satan: "Again it is written, ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.’”(Matt 4:7) And a third time, quoting from Deuteronomy 5:9: "Go away, Satan! For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’” (Matt 4:10)

Many claim, such as yourself, that the name should not be used because the original way to pronounce it is unknown today. Ancient Hebrew was written without vowels. Therefore, no one today can say for sure exactly how people of Bible times pronounced YHWH.

However, should this prevent us from using God’s name ? In Bible times, the name Jesus may have been pronounced Yeshua or possibly Yehoshua—no one can say for certain. Yet, people the world over today use different forms of the name Jesus, pronouncing it in the way that is common in their language. They do not hesitate to use the name just because they do not know its first-century pronunciation. Similarly, if you were to travel to a foreign land, you might well find that your own name sounds quite different in another tongue. Hence, uncertainty about the ancient pronunciation of God’s name is no reason for not using Jehovah.

Saying I have not done my homework is most humorous. It is rather apparent from my post that indeed I have.

You said of me personally...

You are like a person who only looks at things surface wise, and not willing to examine Scriptures deeply, getting "the sense of them."(Matt 13:13)

You consistently give your own personal biased and prejudicial opinion, thinking this has some "weight". You do not carefully give thought to what is true, but have this opposing spirit to Jehovah's Witnesses, of which I am not surprised, for Jesus had already warned that his disciples would be "hated" just as he was.

Saying that I am not willing to examine scriptures deeply is in error. It is not true. And your disparaging comments will not deter me from exposing the truth about the Jehovah's witness Cult. Everything I have said regarding your cult is factual, not opinion.

Your opposing to the name Jehovah as far as accuracy

The error in translation is factual. "Jehovah" was formed by using the consonants of one word and the vowels of another.

The answer is apparent.

So with the dates for Armegeddon under "old light" having failed, The current "new light" is "any day now" or is it "just around the corner"?

I have a hard time understanding the "New Light" on the generation over lap.. Can you explain that?

They are "yes" or "no" questions ...

Do you consider anyone here at Talk Jesus a "true christian" that rejects the doctrines of the Watchtower?

Is what I said earlier true: that "they" (Jehovah's Witnesses) believe all of Christendom (Catholics, Baptist, Methodist, Lutherans, Pentecostals, etc) are evil and in league with satan and doomed to be destroyed at Armageddon?

Do you think that we are not deserving of an answer?

It appears that only the third question was answered.....

The thread "10 Prophecies Fulfilled Recently" became a discussion of 607/1914 false doctrine of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
(My apologies Chad)

So I have posted here for any further discussion regarding that with Jaareshiah.

This is a post from the Miracles of Jesus Christ Thread..

Does healing of a person mean that God did the healing ? Jesus, in identifying the true religion, said: "Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you ! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness."(Matt 7:21-23)

Jesus identified that ' prophesying in Jesus name' (as Harold Camping did), expelling of demons as many religious leaders have done "in Jesus name", or performing ' powerful works in Jesus name ', such as healing, is not the mark of true Christianity. Rather, Jesus said that doing his Father's will establishes those who are pleasing to God.

And what is the Father's will ? The apostle Paul made this note: "This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, whose will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth."(1 Tim 2:3, 4) How are individuals of "all sorts" able to "come to an accurate knowledge of truth" ? By just reading the Bible or perhaps attending some church, listening to a sermon of a preacher, but doing nothing more ?

What example did Jesus set for his disciples to follow in his "footsteps" ? At Luke 8:1, the account says that "shortly afterwards he went journeying from city to city and from village to village, preaching and declaring the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him."

Later, Jesus assigned seventy to do what ? Luke 10:1 says that "after these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come." Jesus now mentions a "harvest work", saying: "The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest."(Luke 10:2)

What then did the early disciples do in order to help others "come to an accurate knowledge of truth" as Jesus taught ? These became "workers" of the "harvest", going from "city to city", from "house to house" (Acts 20:20), teaching persons in their homes God's word the Bible, such as what our Creator, Jehovah God originally purposed for mankind, the living on a paradise earth forever that will come about by means of God's kingdom.(Matt 5:5; Ps 37:11, 29; Matt 6:9, 10) Jesus, while hanging on a torture stake with two evil-doers beside him, told one that showed sincerity: "Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise.”(Luke 23:43)

Thus, healing of a person (or other "powerful works") does not determine God's backing, but the one doing of God's will, being "workers" in the "harvest" that requires a person to accurately use the Bible in conducting home Bible studies. Are the churches doing this ? No. The preachers and pastors (the clergy) are paid to preach a sermon to a group of pew sitters (the laity), but even then never mentioning "the good news of the kingdom", except in passing, and thus never explaining the "mysteries of the kingdom".(Matt 13:11)

The "laity" are basically just "seat warmers", with these seeing no need to follow in Jesus "footsteps" (1 Pet 2:21), but would rather see a "miracle" than doing God's will of being actively engaged in telling others about "the good news of the kingdom", such as Philip, who declared to the inhabitants of Samaria "the good news of the kingdom of God".(Acts 8:12)

Or of the apostle Paul, who traveled extensively, "preaching the kingdom of God to them and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with the greatest freeness of speech, without hindrance."(Acts 28:31)

And here is my Post ....

*sigh*

I would much rather talk about how God healed me (My name is "Strypes" for a reason) but I feel I must address Jaareshiah's post.

(off topic AGAIN .. Sorry Chad)

Jesus did not die on a torture stake. He died on a Roman Cross. Jehovah Witnesses are taught that "jesus" (Michael the Arch Angel that is), was "impaled" on an upright post or "Torture Stake". They don't use the word "crucified" or "Cross" because only "They" have "accurate knowledge". It is part of the mind control process. Secret knowledge that only the cult possesses. Such is used to bolster their sense of uniqueness. That they are "right" and everybody else is wrong.

They teach that Jesus was impaled on a torture stake (Nailed to an upright beam with his hands above his head using one nail through both hands). Why do they teach that Jesus couldn't possibly have been crucified on a Cross? Because the Cross is a PAGAN symbol. In use way before the time of Jesus by PAGANS.

Tell me Jaareshiah, Why wouldn't the PAGAN Romans use a PAGAN MEANS (crucifixion) to execute Jesus? Because they were Pagans?..

Bible evidence you demand? ok..

The plural "Nails"

The Sign (King of the Jews) was placed above Jesus' (the REAL Jesus) Head... not above his hands...

Strypes<== sings an Old testament Passover Song...

:singingfly:

"With mighty hands and OUTSTRETCHED arms.. His love endures forever"... (Psalm 136:12)

There is so much more in your post Jaareshiah that I wish to address (the copy and paste of Watchtower publication materials... The use of the New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness Bible) for your bible quotes as that translation was deliberately miss-translated to belittle Jesus' Deity etc. The sneaky way you try to push the false doctrines of the Watchtower. (namely only JW's are "DOING".. ) But all of that would be again "OFF TOPIC"

I am going to paste your post to the "OFF Topic" thread I created for the purpose of discussing Jehovah's Witness Doctrines that you post in Threads..

THIS THREAD Is about the Miracles of Jesus...

Here is the link to the thread where we can discuss "OFF TOPIC" Jehovah's Witness Stuff

http://www.talkjesus.com/bible-stud...-reason-together-seek-truth-3.html#post210091

Jaareshiah, Where would you like to start?

here are the scriptures I quoted in my post that somehow didn't copy over to this thread

John 20:24 Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe." 26 Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you." 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe." 28 Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Matthew 27:37 And over his head they put the charge against him, which read, "This is Jesus, the King of the Jews."

I think I would like to begin with the just of what your post was about.. "Doing" the will of God.

You assert that "Doing" is the house to house "ministry" that ONLY the Jehovah's Witnesses do, which is to lead to home "Bible Studies"...

For one, you and I both know that the Bible is not what is studied.. It is the Watchtower Publications that are studied in a "home Bible study". The first thing the Witnesses want to accomplish is to get the householder to agree that the "faithful and discreet Slave" is the ONLY source of spiritual "food"... and in doing so, DENY the Holy Spirit. If you try to read the passage they push IN CONTEXT, they freak out and demand you read ONLY the verse they are trying to take OUT OF CONTEXT to support their false doctrines. You know it is true. The Watchtower teaches that you should NOT read the Bible without their Publications. If you did you would discover their deceptions.

Secondly, there are many Christians that share the Gospel with others everyday.

You mentioned that Pastors are paid to preach...

I have a question for you.. do you count "time" for your "efforts" here at TJ? How many hours do you put in a month in Field Service? and do you put your compensation in the world wide pedophile defense fund?

That was a rhetorical question..

Continuing on..

The "Doing" of what Jesus asked; God's will for all of us is to share Jesus with all whom we meet in our lives. We are His hands and feet to those to whom He sends us. It is not about "feeding" the hungry "Watchtower Magazines.

Lets look at what Jesus says matters most. What it is that separates the sheep from the goats....

Matthew 25:31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' 40 And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' 41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' 44 Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?' 45 Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

Do the Jehovah's Witnesses feed the poor? Host a Soup Kitchen? Do they do clothing drives for the Homeless? Sponsor Homeless Shelters? How many hospitals have they built? How many medical mission trips have they had to places around the world that needed help? How many wells have they dug in places like Africa for the people to have clean water to drink?

Sadly, the answers to those rhetorical questions are .. None.. Zero.. nada, Zilch.

IN Fact: The Jehovah's Witnesses are forbidden to even give a dime to those who do.

The Salvation Army, Compassion International, (and thousands of others) are considered "of Satan"... Christendom, the Baptist and Catholics and Lutherans, etc...

Those Christians that ARE Doing what Jesus asked by being His hands and feet here on earth, The Jehovah's Witnesses consider "the Harlot". They teach that if a Jehovah's Witness enters a church of "Christendom" that they are committing spiritual fornication. Giving to one of Christendom's charities is grounds for disfellowshipment (similar to excommunication in the Catholic Church).

Jehovah's Witnesses do absolutely NOTHING to help others. They don't even help those in their own congregations.
Tiz True.

Distributing Watchtower Magazines for their god, The Watchtower (publishing) corporation, is what they consider "helping"...

Sooooo..

Would the Jehovah's Witnesses be with the sheep or the goats?

Pleasing God... or pleasing men?

I think I would like to begin with the just of what your post was about.. "Doing" the will of God.

You assert that "Doing" is the house to house "ministry" that ONLY the Jehovah's Witnesses do, which is to lead to home "Bible Studies"...

For one, you and I both know that the Bible is not what is studied.. It is the Watchtower Publications that are studied in a "home Bible study". The Watchtower teaches that you should NOT read the Bible without their Publications. If you did you would discover their deceptions.

Did Jesus say to build or sponsor hospitals or build or sponsor "soup kitchens" or "homeless shelters" ? After Jesus had "cured many that were ill with various sicknesses, and he expelled many demons", with "the whole city gathered right at his door", the following morning, what then did he do, though Simon told him that "all are looking for you" to continue healing them ?

Jesus told Simon (Peter): "Let us go somewhere else, into the village towns nearby, that I may preach there also, for it is for this purpose I have gone out. And he did go, preaching in their synagogues throughout the whole of Gal´i·lee and expelling the demons."(Mark 1:34-39) When before Pilate, Jesus told him that "I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth (not to build hospitals or soup kitchens or homeless shelters). Everyone that is on the side of the truth listens to my voice.”(John 18:37)

Thus, Jesus did not say for himself nor to his disciples to focus on human philanthropical works, for Jesus noted that "you will always have the poor with you."(Matt 26:11) Rather, in giving a response to his apostles question of "what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” (Matt 24:3), Jesus said that one notable feature will stand out: "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."(Matt 24:14)

In giving this response, he further identified what his true disciples would be doing. In an illustration, he said that "it is just as a man about to travel abroad" who then summoned his "slaves and committed to them his belongings". In the illustration, to three different slaves he gave symbolic "talents". What were they to do with these "talents" ? "Do business with them". What "business" was Jesus in, that the illustration portrayed ? Making disciples.(Luke 8:1; Matt 28:19, 20)

Two of the slaves took the "talents" given to them and made gains for their "master".(Matt 25:19) For this, the "master" was very pleased, these being appointed "over many things". However, one slave buried the "talent" given to him. How did the "master" respond ? He said: "Wicked and sluggish slave, you knew, did you, that I reaped where I did not sow and gathered where I did not winnow? Well, then, you ought to have deposited my silver monies with the bankers, and on my arrival I would be receiving what is mine with interest."(Matt 25:26, 27)

The "master" further said: "Therefore take away the talent from him and give it to him that has the ten talents. For to everyone that has, more will be given and he will have abundance; but as for him that does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. And throw the good-for-nothing slave out into the darkness outside. There is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be.’ "(Matt 25:28-30)

Hence, Jesus said that the preaching of the "the good news of the kingdom" is a requirement, along with showing love in all other aspects of true Christian's life. These have "to be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect" in showing genuine love and generosity (Matt 5:43-48) but must also be doing the assigned work of ' making disciples', fulfilling the command at Matthew 24:14, and in which most others who call themselves "Christian" are not active in doing it.

You are actually defending not helping the poor because the Woman poured perfume on Jesus' head and Disciples wanted to sell the perfume for is monetary value?

Jesus Anointed at Bethany

Matthew 26:6 Now when Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, 7 a woman came up to him with an alabaster flask of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at table. 8 And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, "Why this waste? 9 For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor." 10 But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me. 11 For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. 12 In pouring this ointment on my body, she has done it to prepare me for burial. 13 Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her."

So .. back to the question..

Jehovah's witnesses: are they sheep or goats?

be honest with yourself.

In the ten Prophecies Fulfilled thread, Jaareshiah continues to post "off topic" even though the link to this thread for "off topic" discussion was posted there

So, like a good Jehovah's witness, you completely ignore the Egyptian king passage I posted to plagiarize more watchtower publications.

Typical JW response; ignoring an indisputable fact (Egyptian History) and reverting to regurgitating JW rhetoric to perpetuate the lie. What I find humorous (if it wasn't so sad) is that is seems you do not know your own cult's history. It was your founder, Charles Taze Russell, who used the study of the great pyramids and numerology to come up with the dates (that kept changing as each one proved false). He is buried in Pittsburgh and his grave marker is a pyramid with a CROSS on it. Tiz True.

This Thread is about Biblical prophecies that have been fulfilled.

You and I have basically highjacked this thread discussing the false prophecies of the jehovah's witness cult.

If you want to continue this off topic conversation, go to the thread that I created for that purpose. I will no longer respond to you in this thread

In reference to my Egyptian king rebuttal of the 607 false doctrine, Jaareshiah replies..

You just quoted from Wikipedia. This is not "source" information, just a statement, which anyone can make without referencing anything.

This is my post that Jaareshiah quoted..

The Bible does not give the specific year of the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians and that is why the Watchtower minipulates the dates (as you have in your previous post) to make 607 the year so they can data mine passages to appear to point to 1914. You asked me to give you evidence from the Bible.. So here you go.

(here is where I posted Jeremiah 44 in my original post that doesn't copy when quoting my post)

Jeremiah 44 references the destruction of Jerusalem to the Jews that fled to Egypt. The Pharaoh who was ruling at that time was Hophra. Pharaoh Hophra started his rule in 589 BC, so how could it have been yearlier in 607 bc???? It can't. The Watchtower/Governing Body/ FDS is WRONG! 1914 was a hoax. Jesus (Michael the arch angel) did NOT invisibly return in 1914 or 1918 or 1919 and Jesus (the REAL Jesus) did not appoint them at all. You have been lied to and manipulated into believing a lie.

Apries (Ancient Greek: Ἁπρίης) is the name by which Herodotus (ii. 161) and Diodorus (i. 68) designate Wahibre Haaibre, Ουαφρης (Pharaoh-Hophra), a pharaoh of Egypt (589 BC – 570 BC), the fourth king (counting from Psamtik I) of the Twenty-sixth dynasty of Egypt.

So is the Watchtower going to re-write Egyptian History so their 1914 doctrine can continue to be "accurate knowledge"?

It included a Bible quote that didn't copy in the quote, Jeremiah 44

Jeremiah 44
1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Judeans who lived in the land of Egypt, at Migdol, at Tahpanhes, at Memphis, and in the land of Pathros, 2 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: You have seen all the disaster that I brought upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah. Behold, this day they are a desolation, and no one dwells in them, 3 because of the evil that they committed, provoking me to anger, in that they went to make offerings and serve other gods that they knew not, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers. 4 Yet I persistently sent to you all my servants the prophets, saying, 'Oh, do not do this abomination that I hate!' 5 But they did not listen or incline their ear, to turn from their evil and make no offerings to other gods. 6 Therefore my wrath and my anger were poured out and kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, and they became a waste and a desolation, as at this day. 7 And now thus says the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel: Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and child, from the midst of Judah, leaving you no remnant? 8 Why do you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, making offerings to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have come to live, so that you may be cut off and become a curse and a taunt among all the nations of the earth? 9 Have you forgotten the evil of your fathers, the evil of the kings of Judah, the evil of their wives, your own evil, and the evil of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 10 They have not humbled themselves even to this day, nor have they feared, nor walked in my law and my statutes that I set before you and before your fathers. 11 "Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will set my face against you for harm, to cut off all Judah. 12 I will take the remnant of Judah who have set their faces to come to the land of Egypt to live, and they shall all be consumed. In the land of Egypt they shall fall; by the sword and by famine they shall be consumed. From the least to the greatest, they shall die by the sword and by famine, and they shall become an oath, a horror, a curse, and a taunt. 13 I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence, 14 so that none of the remnant of Judah who have come to live in the land of Egypt shall escape or survive or return to the land of Judah, to which they desire to return to dwell there. For they shall not return, except some fugitives." 15 Then all the men who knew that their wives had made offerings to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, all the people who lived in Pathros in the land of Egypt, answered Jeremiah: 16 "As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you. 17 But we will do everything that we have vowed, make offerings to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we did, both we and our fathers, our kings and our officials, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no disaster. 18 But since we left off making offerings to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been consumed by the sword and by famine." 19 And the women said,"When we made offerings to the queen of heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, was it without our husbands' approval that we made cakes for her bearing her image and poured out drink offerings to her?" 20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people, men and women, all the people who had given him this answer: 21 "As for the offerings that you offered in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your officials, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them? Did it not come into his mind? 22 The LORD could no longer bear your evil deeds and the abominations that you committed. Therefore your land has become a desolation and a waste and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day. 23 It is because you made offerings and because you sinned against the LORD and did not obey the voice of the LORD or walk in his law and in his statutes and in his testimonies that this disaster has happened to you, as at this day." 24 Jeremiah said to all the people and all the women, "Hear the word of the LORD, all you of Judah who are in the land of Egypt. 25 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: You and your wives have declared with your mouths, and have fulfilled it with your hands, saying, 'We will surely perform our vows that we have made, to make offerings to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings to her.' Then confirm your vows and perform your vows! 26 Therefore hear the word of the LORD, all you of Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says the LORD, that my name shall no more be invoked by the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, 'As the Lord GOD lives.' 27 Behold, I am watching over them for disaster and not for good. All the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by famine, until there is an end of them. 28 And those who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah, few in number; and all the remnant of Judah, who came to the land of Egypt to live, shall know whose word will stand, mine or theirs. 29 This shall be the sign to you, declares the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, in order that you may know that my words will surely stand against you for harm: 30 Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy and sought his life."

It seems Jaareshiah doesn't realize that the Egyptians kept records of their kings...

There are many resources online to confirm it such as Pharaohs Timeline at King Tut org uk, Kingdoms of North Africa - Ancient Egypt at history files co uk and many more.

As it is not appropriate to post links without Chad's permission, you can google "pharaoh of egypt (589 BC – 570 BC)" and get over a million and a half references.

For a link that Chad has approved for me to post, This link is to the history of the Watchtower organization. I was going to make a thread to discuss it but this thread will do.. The video uses the watchtowers own publications to expose truth. They even show (at 7minutes 35 seconds into the video) Russel's pyramid grave marker.

I know it will be difficult to listen to for you but if you want Truth, watch the whole thing.

When dealing with the Jewish religious leaders, who continued to attack him and with his disciples saying: "Do you know that the Pharisees stumbled at hearing what you said?", Jesus said: “Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted. Let them be. Blind guides is what they are. If, then, a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit."(Matt 15:12-14)

You are the one who hijacked threads because you have an "ax to grind" against Jehovah's Witnesses. I will not respond to you anymore. Just as Jesus said: Let them be", so will I.

When Jehovah's witnesses come face to face with facts they are unable to "spin" with their practiced presentations, they revert to their persecution complex to soothe their cognitive dissonance. One of the things the cult uses to reinforce that they are the only ones that have "the Truth"is their mantra that they are the ONLY ones "persecuted".

Jaareshiah's response is a typical JW response when they have no answer to that which they are challenged. Instead of dealing honestly with the questions at hand, they revert to dismissing the discussion as they are being "persecuted".

It is my hope that Jaareshiah will consider the things that have been said and be honest with himself enough to seek Truth, for only truth can set him free.

What is the real name of God?

I am amazed how often this topic is raised.

The origins for the composite term Jehovah came from early English translators who
transposed the vowels from Adonai to the Tetragrammaton(YHWH), and read the
word literally so that the Y in YHWH, was pronounced as a J in English, and the W as a V.
Taking the spellings at face value may have been as a result of not knowing about the
Q're perpetuum, thus resulting in the term "Jehovah" and its spelling variants.

The Catholic Encyclopedia [1913, Vol. VIII, p. 329] states: "Jehovah (Yahweh),
the proper name of God in the Old Testament."

Had they known about the Q're perpetuum, the term "Jehovah" may have never
come into being.

Modern scholars recognize Jehovah to be "grammatically impossible"
(Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol VII, p. 8). (wikipedia)

Both the JW's and Catholics employed translations that used
a faulty method to translate YHWH. Is anyone suprised by this
information?

If you think that the Jehovah's Witnesses have the correct name for
God you may be in for a surprise. Read the following quote from
the Watchtower Society.

(AID TO BIBLE UNDERSTANDING 1971 Watchtower and Bible Tract Society p885)
"Since certainty of pronunciation is not now attainable, there seems to be no reason
for abandoning in English the well-known form "Jehovah" in favor of some other
suggested pronunciation."

"LORD was a substitute, Jehovah is definitely wrong, and the alternatives left are Yahveh,
Yāhūh, Yāhôh, or perhaps even something else.

As we cannot prove any of these with any certainty, it is safe simply leave God's name
as the tetragammaton YHVH (or YHWH).

Christians should have no problems with this, because in the New Testament we are not told
to use God's Old Testament covenant name when we pray or worship.

Actually we have a quote of Jesus reading from Isaiah where he read,
"The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel
to the poor," (Luke 4:18).

This is a quotation of, "The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD
has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor." (Isaiah 61:1).

Here the Hebrew for "Lord GOD" is "adonai YHWH" and the Hebrew word for "LORD" is "YHWH".
The Greek equivalent used for "Lord GOD" in Luke is "kuriou", which means "Lord".

Now why didn't Jesus read both words? Either he left out YHWH altogether, or he left out "adonai"
and substituted "kurios" for YHWH.

He also refused to quote God's name YHWH a second time, and used the word "he" instead.
Jesus refused to say God's name in Matthew 4:7 where he is quoting Deuteronomy 6:16
and YHWH was used.

Also in Matthew 4:10 he refused to use God's name again where he is quoting
Deuteronomy 6:13 and 10:20, where again YHWH is used.

Again in Matthew 23:39 he had opportunity to use God's name when quoting Psalm 118:26
but used "kurios" instead.

Why did Jesus continually refuse to use God's name when he had the opportunity if it was
so important to use the name?

These New Testament quotations are inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16), so whichever way you look
at it he had the opportunity to pronounce the name and he didn't do it.

If saying God's actual name was not important to Jesus, then why should it be so important to us?

Jesus told us to pray to "the Father" (Matthew 6:9; Luke 11:2; John 16:23), and worship
"the Father" (John 4:23).

Jesus always called God his Father, and with his spirit in every born again Christian,
we ought to do the same (Galatians 4:6)."
