14Then he said, “I have been very zealous for the LORD, the God of armies; for the sons of Israel have abandoned your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they have sought to take my life.”

But there is a“Remnant According To Grace!:pensive:

And There are no comforting words. But Thy Will be done.

Not that unusual - not everybody wants to give up their worldly passions and works for the gospel.
My family certainly separated themselves from me.

Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.

Matthew 19:29 "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life."

Dear Brother,
First you are never alone though at times it may seem that way.
You also have Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus that share with you the love of the Lord, and that separation from the World.
Most importantly you have the Lord!!! You already know that He's not going to leave you...even if you wanted Him too!!! :)

As far as family. Well, you might be a sore reminder to them of the Lord, but that also is a bonus, because if your presence alone is sufficient for this reminder, then truly a blessing because there are many that don't even have that! Your continued prayers, and I'm sure a shaking of your head now and again will suffice for a time of remembrance. Also, know the little ones if but the laying of hands upon the little one's heads, and a prayer will help them for when you are not there. They will remember!

So, it was with my niece and nephew. My sister wouldn't allow my mother to even mention the name of the Lord in her house, even as she, my mother took care of those two children. After my sister would leave the house, my mother would take them both and as she was sitting would have them kneel before her. She would lay hands on them and say prayers over them. Now the children not being exposed to anything of God, would kind of smile and laugh a bit, but you know what? They remember her doing this, though it has been more then 20 years since her passing and another 20 years since she would do this! Both have received the Lord Jesus as their Savior and King. Though the boy has a harder time of it. Took a machete to the head trying to protect a friend who left him to die in the street. He survived but with many mental issues, and still lives across from his mother who still wants nothing to do with God. :( Yet, he tries to be reconciled with his troubles and his Lord and Savior. Difficult, for him, but he keeps on and his sister still has a love of the Lord and supports him. I guess as we all must who call Jesus Lord is do the best we can, while He drags us/holds us the rest of the way.

He's not done with you yet dear brother, so you'll have to wait a while before you can be fully with Him and leaving this sad World behind.
To be honest, I'm glad you're still too! You'll have enough time to enter His Rest later on! :grinning:

Well, off to join my wife for breakfast! Even as she slowly is breaking down physically, I have to be there for her! Trying to keep the joy through the tears, but we hold on don't we brother?

Love you, and a brotherly hug!
With the Love of Christ Jesus.

P.S. I posted a Sermon from Charles Spurgeon in the Sermon Forum, that you might enjoy. Not a quick one, for his had a tendency to run at least 8 pages long :) After reading this thread of yours, I now know why you came to mind when I was listening/reading it. God bless. \o/
