Many historians once considered biblical figures like King David and King Solomon to be myths. However, today there is considerable evidence for both. Careful historians are aware of the obvious historical fact, that lack of evidence does not equal non-existence; often what there is no evidence for today becomes strong evidence tomorrow, as more archaeological discoveries are made.
